This is what it looked like from the power steering hose spewing all over after the wreck;

This is after about 30min of polishing with Never Dull;

Also had time to start in on the dash/ECU/wideband move;

Not a whole lotta fun happening with it, but it's progress. Still looking into the wiring VTEC thing if anybody has an idea.

Yup that's what worked for me, too. All I ever came across to read was how awesome they were so I just expected an easy install. WRONG. Supposedly still worth it anyway. Plus I think they have a lifetime warranty so that's a major plus.

Re: :::Linds-O::: 1995 SE/VTEC

Nowhere in any of the most thorough H23 -> H22 swap threads did anyone mention that 'Hey, the A/C compressor and alternator have different pullies, so you either need to switch your crank pulley out, or swap in your H22 alternator and A/C compressor'. Fun day, it was.

I was working with my new-ish H22 crank and the new-ish alternator I got from Autozone with the warranty, so at that point the only oddball was the A/C compressor. I had to decide between my better condition pullies, empty the refrigerant and use my better-condition compressor, or keep the refrigerant and worse-looking compressor, and use the worse-looking h23 crank and alternator with no warranty. The refrigerant and, sadly the Ozone, lost the battle.

EDIT: Oh and no, the belt difference is +/- a rib, so the H22 belt was too wide for the H23 stuff and the H23 belt was to thin for the H22 stuff.

When I ordered a new ac compressor they sent me a 5 rib one. So now I'm running a 5 rib belt.

Is your crank pulley and alternator 4-rib? It may have just been me, but eyeing it, my 4-rib A/C pulley didn't look to be lined up perfectly with my crank pulley, and the belt didn't fit in there right so I didn't wanna risk shredding it over and over.

Re: :::Linds-O::: 1995 SE/VTEC

No my crank pulley and alternator and ac compressor were all 6 rib. They sent me a 5 rib compressor. So I found a 5 rib belt the same length and it all works fine.

Re: :::Linds-O::: 1995 SE/VTEC

I'm right in the midst of the VTEC rotor and caliper swap. Getting to take all that stuff apart is pretty cool, makes me less afraid of suspension work. I couldn't get the stupid little No.3 philips head screws outta the rotor, so my friend just suggested I swap over the entire setup- control arms, dust shields and sensors. Sure, why the hell not?

Another 'Why-the-hell-not' moment, I always wanted to paint my calipers but was too afraid to take apart the brakes. Lets do it!

We all know what they look like to begin with;

This is after some wire wheel action, my favorite thing to do ever;

And the pile of loose parts. I'm running out of places to put things so right now they're stuffed behind Number One;

The brackets are actually silver, I hope they look good even though nothing else on the car is silver or red. We shall see!

That's a d*mn fine idea. I wondered a few times what something like that might look like. I'll be back for pics of them installed.

Re: :::Linds-O::: 1995 SE/VTEC

Well here you go, sir! I think I like the way they look, but I bet they'd look better on your red car.

Threw my sawblade on there to get a feel for them. The SE blades will obviously show them off more, but I won't put those on til I have a set either polished or just refurb'ed.

Not being a welder, this has been the bane of my progress the past two weeks. See how it's just barely tweaked to the right?;

I dunno if me smashing things into a wall at 50 torqued the header like that, or if it was always like that and I just got lucky the first time around on Number One. This time, after installing the Vibrant Ultra-Quiet resonator on there, it's width really emphasized how poor of a trajectory the Hytech Rep really has; it's off centered, hangs low and kinda points down. For the past week, the resonator has been knocked up against the drivers side, and I'd just lay under the car staring at it and cursing to myself. My buddy Matt came over Sunday with his brother and along with my father, we banged out a brainstorm session while all four of us were under the car, and then got to work;

I removed the heat shield to ensure resonator fitment. I might cut it up a bit to stick above the converter if I notice any heat coming into the cabin but even with the angle adjustment that flex pipe granted me, there's still quite a bit of space between the cat and the body of the car so I don't anticipate having much of a problem with it.

As she lies;

Imma try starting her up again first thing in the morning for the first time since the wreck, so hopefully that goes well. All I really gotta do is double check grounds, vacuum lines and harness connections before I stick the key in. I swear to god I'm gonna **** my pants on purpose if she doesn't start.

Came close 2x, but sorry Ogs, no pants party. I'll still post a pic of my underwear if you want.

And for you Curious Jorge's out there, this is the newest addition to the dash;

I can't advocate much as to the functionality of the gauge yet, but as far as aesthetics and fitment go, I couldn't be happier.

Re: :::Linds-O::: 1995 SE/VTEC

Well I just took it for a drive around the block and everything works, but it vibrates like FKUUUUC!! I'm pretty sure it's not out of time, so maybe it's these new 75a mounts? If that's the case, I hope they loosen up a bit because Jesus H, the vibrating is louder than my exhaust.

I remember reading somewhere where your friend drilled something out on the ??rear?? mount? That could have something to do with it???? The new(er) Lude looks great man!! Glad you were able to get back into the game fairly quickly.
