Re: :::Linds-O::: 1995 SE/VTEC
I waited 6 months to drive Lucky. Busted motor was replaced with a used motor. After a short jaunt it was parked for some gawking and bragging photos. Thwewmph... ssssssssss... hot green liquid spraying in all directions...
Busted hose. Fixed it two days later. It wasn't 6 years, mind you. But it was loooooooong 2 days. Patience is a muthaf@¢ka but the pay off is stellar.

Nice color man! Are you going to get your valve cover powder coated the same color?

Wow that was like an explosion of responses. Awesome!
Thanks guys! I'm really enjoying myself over here. I will as I go along! Right now it's just a plastic-wrapped paint booth, not much more goin' on than that. No I'm going to keep the 'Cashmere Silver' on the outside and concentrate on glossing up the black trim, save up for a good carbon fiber hood, and try to keep that clean stock look. Quote:
Thanks man! I was trying to think of it as 'When I wear my khaki pants, what color shirt do I wear?' and BAM I wear maroon ones when I'm not wearing plaid. **** painting it plaid in there.

Re: :::Linds-O::: 1995 SE/VTEC
Need some help!
H23 to H22 swap- if I use the H22 engine harness, do I still have to wire VTEC straight to the ECU in the shell of a 1995 SE model? Kind of a rough day with the Prelude today. Took longer than we were hoping to pull the H22 since the front end was crushed. Dropping the crossmember made it easier but my header got whacked by it and has a little dent. Once we got everything transferred over, I ended up having problems with my Innovative motor mounts. First, the rear mount bolt holes didn't line up so my friend drilled it out a little bit to loosen it up. Next, the drivers side mount is much thinner than the stock mount so I have to go buy new shorter bolts and nuts to hold that one on. Lastly, the transmission mount is all ****ed up, it doesn't line up at all. I'm pissed because I don't want to continue installing the motor if they're gonna make me send back the whole set. I've contacted the seller, so all I can do is wait. Anyway, here's a couple pics-pardon the overspray; Finished painting and clearing the bay ![]() Here's the mount issue I'm having; ![]() ![]()

Re: :::Linds-O::: 1995 SE/VTEC
Dang dude so the mounts wouldnt fit, i think that specific mount set is made to delete the driver side mount to make room for tranny mount. i could be 100% wrong but that kit only comes with 3 mounts for the BB6

Re: :::Linds-O::: 1995 SE/VTEC
Or i would check the mount brackets from your other car, could be different

All the mounts between the two are the same. I actually just got off the phone with the seller Robert at West Coast JDM who gave me this link and seems very willing to help me get through this issue; 4G Prelude Innovative motor mounts install-- - Honda-Tech It at least addresses the rear mount problem directly, and obviously that guy had to pry the engine around a bit to get it to work, so maybe I underestimated the difficulty of the mod. I'll keep working on it this week and see what happens.

So I was thinking that you shouldn't finish the 'lude until after Halloween so you can dress up as Paul Bunyan.

Re: :::Linds-O::: 1995 SE/VTEC
any time I've installed a motor with innovative mounts, we've left all the mounting bolts slightly loose until the center bolt is through each mount. they are a pain to install but worth the hastle. I'll ask mitnz which order we installed them in his 4th gen, he should remember. Don't drill out anything...

3.5 hours of pulling, prying, lowering, lifting, cursing, loosening and tightening later, I have all three bolts in :) I went rear - driver - passenger. I loosened all 4 bolts on the T-bracket and I think that's what ended up helping the most. I also left the two bolts out of the driver mount until the transmission side was on. Once I got the bolt through the transmission side, there was one vertical bolt on the drivers mount I had to spend another hour on, ended up using a screwdriver, a socket extension and a rubber mallet over on that side if you can imagine the fun I had..
