:::NickClubb86::: 1995 SE

Alright, so this is my first Prelude and my first Honda! =] I picked it up on February 17th, 2013. It has 213k on the odometer, and ~75k on the F22B swap.
This is how it looked the day I got it. Dirty, backward rims, faded paint, but no rust!

And the back.

My weird black/tan interior XD

And here are the spare parts that the guy gave me along with it.

Also, a shot of the engine bay.

So, after driving it around for a week or two with the horrible looking paint, I decided to plasti dip my hood and spoiler just so it would look better. It made the car look much better, so I said screw it, and did the entire car. Here's how it looks today.

On to the specifics!
Engine:
Stock F22B DOHC non VTEC
Painted metallic copper valve cover
eBay CAI
New radiator/cap
New plugs/wires/cap/rotor
Cat-delete exhaust with eBay N1 style muffler

Interior:
Frankenstein tan/black stock interior
Grey/black steering wheel cover

Exterior:
Plasti dip over entire car
AVS Door and sunroof visors
SE wheels
All white corner lights
6000k Halogens
Accord rear lip & mud flaps
DIY Ruby red tails.

Suspension:
All stock

I.C.E.
Ebay head unit (works great!)
4 new Kenwood 6.5" speakers

Misc.
None.

Future Mods:
New tires
New Exhaust
New tranny
New paint job (either Midnight Purple Pearl or Scion Hot Lava Metallic)
New shocks/springs/coilovers
1 Piece headlights
Eyelids
Odyssey lightweight battery
New brake rotors.
Braided Steel brake lines
Windows tinted
Remote start
Strut Bars
5 speed swap if I ever get the money/courage.

Thanks man! Looking at your car was actually my deciding factor to do the whole thing flat black XD I think I might just smoke the tails or do the ruby red mod, but if I decide to get different ones I'll definitely let you know.

Yesterday afternoon my passenger side window stopped working randomly! Goes down really slowly but won't go up unless you pull it up really hard. Woo for more things to fix! XD

Re: :::NickClubb86::: 1995 SE

^5-8 cans sounds average. Depends on how many coats you do. The more the better durability wise.

@OP: Nice lude. Love the SE blades and plasti dip!

My passenger window motor took a dump as well. Press up/down and nothing. Driver side still works. Should be an easy fix? Replace the motor?

Yep that's pretty spot on for the plasti dip! I used 6 cans, and it could probably use 1 or 2 more :P Thanks for the compliments! As far as the window goes, it should be a pretty easy fix hopefully (both my windows are messed up -.-) buy I haven't quite got around to puling the door panels off yet to take a look.

Re: :::NickClubb86::: 1995 SE

A couple of minor updates! I was due for an oil change since I've put about 3500 miles on the car so far, so I got myself one of these to put in while I was changing the oil.

And I thought this was funny so I put it on last week =P

Then here's a random pic I took after a wash.

Now that it's summer I'm starting to fix things here and there since I have more time. Gotta get my windows fixed (parts ordered! =D), power locks fixed, sunroof fixed, and front suspension. Hopefully by the end of summer all that will be done!

Re: :::NickClubb86::: 1995 SE

A couple days ago I replaced my power lock control box and my passenger side window regulator/motor. The regulator gave me some trouble since I had little to no help, and I accidentally unbolted the track and couldn't get it back on (d'oh!), but I got it. =] It's nice to have working power locks and have my passenger window functioning properly. I also took my sunroof off a week or two ago, and tightened down the screws so it no longer wiggles, and sits flush! It still slides like crap, though, even though I cleaned/lubed the tracks. I must not have done a thorough enough job. Eh, it's getting there!

Also, I have a couple goodies from the junkyard I'll be adding soon

Re: :::NickClubb86::: 1995 SE

Have you acquired a battery tie down yet or is the stuffed badger/bungee cord trick still working.

Check some part out here from time to time as well.

Your progress is nice. I dig the clear lenses...

Oh, btw, the tan interior rox. You should build on that imo.

Hahaha! Got a good laugh out of the stuffed badger/bungee cord. I do not have a battery hold down yet, but my ghetto trick is working so far(technically the previous owner's, was like that when I got it). I've checked on the parts on Majestic, just haven't got around to ordering them yet. My hood prop is also not connected lol.

Thanks for the compliments! I've got a looooong way to go.

Re: :::NickClubb86::: 1995 SE

PREPARE FOR PICTURES!
In the last week or so, I painted my spare valve cover, painted my brake calipers to match, and finally fixed the ricetezzas! Go me! lol

First, the valve cover! (can be seen how it started in my parts pic)

Base coat

First two coats

Finished!

You can't see them very well in this pic but I painted my calipers to match the valve cover.

And now, the tail lights!

Materials. (also used some news paper) Yes I did it on the car, shame on me lol.

First one done.

Rear shot. (was getting a little dark)

And at night, lit up.

Also, I don't know if you guys know what it's like to be raped by a fuel pump, but it looks like this.

I'm racing my car tonight at the "spectator drags" at the local race track =] I'll have in-car video of the race(s) (depends how I do). Any car is allowed so I have no idea what I'll be up against. Updates later tonight!

Re: :::NickClubb86::: 1995 SE

Well, it didn't go as well as I had hoped. I did race another 4th gen lude, but he had a 5 spd. I could have beat him, but I messed up and shifted to 2nd too early, and should have left it in second but shifted to 3rd, so I didn't have enough to get him. Oh well it was still pretty fun. Here's the vid!

I've never seen a one-off lap race like that, that's pretty cool. Do people ever hit each other? How long is it?

Re: :::NickClubb86::: 1995 SE

There were 6 cars that did it tonight. It's one on one, one lap elimination. Last car standing wins. There are absolutely no restrictions on cars, so a 95 Firebird with a built motor and NOS won. I just did it to have some fun. Nobody hits each other that I've ever seen. If anyone hit me I would be getting out and kicking some ass! My home track does these once a month.

I need new tires and front suspension, so there's that too XD

I finally got around to installing the new valve cover today =]

While I had the old valve cover off I looked everything over briefly. and it all looks good. The previous owner was truthful about new timing belt, and he used OEM Honda!

Thanks man! I used VHT Engine Enamel in metallic copper over a white base coat. I just put painter's tape over the whole H/Honda, then cut out the inner parts with a razor blade, and peeled it off at the end.

Dig the improved tail lights.

And if you ever go with the purple the franken-tan interior will go well with it.

You've done a great job cleaning up that SE. The Plasti-Dip paint job is looks great as does your valve cover. Overall, I like.

Thanks! I change my mind about what I want to do with my exterior more than a woman changes her mind about outfits -.- We'll see what I go with when money is there to back it up! I have an Uncle who as an incredible body man, so when I can afford it, it will look proper.

Thank you very much =] I have a decent amount planned for it as well.

I've been racing since I was 10 years old, so I don't get scared of a race track lol. Not really trying to be arrogant, but I'm a pretty damn good driver. I was a little worried about the other people also, and that guy did come down on me some. I just figured if another car gets close, avoid at all costs, if somebody hits me, heads start rolling. I think I'll be doing this in the future as well! It was pretty fun even though I lost to what looked like a crappy ricer lude. I know for a fact his car was a 5 spd, not sure what engine, so I wasn't too upset.

3.7 x 2,48 = 9,17 dollar for a gallon in the Netherlands

Holy crap man! That is absolute insanity! I think at that point I would be looking into a mountain bike rather than a car XD
