:::s3xrapt0r::: 93 prelude si

whats up prelude zone ! my names mike from nj this is the first honda build i have ever done.. i am a mazda and toyota guy but i decided to pick up a honda because i was feeling froggy.. so far i am glad i picked it up !

first off before we get started.. i just want to introduce you all to a friend of mine.. his name is pabst !

so lets get started.. my friend offered me his prelude shell for 400 bucks.. i picked it up about 2 to 3 weeks back

very clean interior

about 3 days later a guy who lives down the street who also has a prelude told me he has a h23 bluetop i can have for 600 bucks.. so i grabbed that from him

took her clothes off because i wanted to see whats under them pantys.. ended up being pretty clean ! new T belt,honey colored oil,no sludge.. i was pleased ! it has to have very very low miles

i then took a wire brush to the block and sprayed it with some engine enamel

i also cleaned up the brackets and gave them a spray of silver

also i removed the butterflys from the intake manifold and put a spacer plate in their spot.. i then wire wheeled the intake manifold gave it a shot of silver and reinstalled it with new gaskets

everything was reinstalled and the seals and gaskets were replaced minus the head gasket so i had a party

i then found an f22 transmission some guy was selling for 50 bucks he was a guy who always sells stuff on our local honda facebook page so i trusted him.. he sold his accord and had this laying around.. ill start cleaning it up and painting it eventually..

over the past week i have been attending to the bay.. i started out by hitting the bay with a wire wheel to get the rust off some stuff and gave it a shot of black

after the black i gave it a shot of sonic pearl blue its a toyota oem color i really liked so i went with it

then i sprayed a few coats of clear on it not too shabby

FINIALLY !!! we come down to today..

i tucked the fusebox under the dash

and i also welded the power steering resivour bracket under the fender and relocated it to there.. still need to buy the hoses but ill do that later !

also idn if you guys like mr2s.. but my other ride is an 88 mr2 this is a pic of my mr2 my friend posted up today :) i figured you guys might like to see what else i work on when im not toying with the prelude

Re: :::s3xrapt0r::: 93 prelude si

thanks guys :) i may do it in that color... im also thinking about doing it the same color as my mr2.. we will see what i feel like spraying i do my paint jobs my self too ! lol

btw.. i did a little more tucking today... i may delete the abs too.. still need to consider that and see if the time it takes is worth cleaning that chunk of metal from the bay

as of right now im keeping power steering and keeping AC.. and my goal with the wire tuck isnt a floating bay.. just as clean i can get it with out going nuts

Re: :::s3xrapt0r::: 93 prelude si

just a little update.... had an hour or so after work to my self so i started stripping the harness.. i cut off all the old electrical tape and wire loom and just used a little bit of tape to keep it intact while it sits.. im going to be rewrapping it in mesh sleeving.. i have deleted the evap,intake butterflys and egr.. so if anyone can point out wich wires they are that would be great (use PAINT or something and circle them for me).. i dont have many of the sensors i need and i dont know what clips are for what other then the vtec solenoid and injectors lol

Re: :::s3xrapt0r::: 93 prelude si

technically you can say i know what to do.. but i have no idea what connector is for what since my motor has all obd2 sensors and i got an obd1 harness.. ive never owned/built a honda so im doing this in the dark for the most part.

but you guys are right.. i think i will just wait until i get some sensors plug it in and do an even cleaner job then just sleeving and clipping the stuff i deleted

ill have some abs delete fun this week.. just need to track down a 40/40 proportioning valve at the yard i plan to hide that somewhere mabey an inner fender or something

also i painted my spark plug cover ! valve cover was done before i bought the motor my mr2s valve covers are done the same way

my preludes spark plug cover

Re: :::s3xrapt0r::: 93 prelude si

alright so im back from the dead.. i havent been working on cars alot lately because of some issues ive been having.. just not feeling motivated,thinking about life ect ect blah blah.. got a new job that i actually enjoy for once.. i get a respectable paycheck now that im at a REAL shop.. anyways..

since my past visit ive smoked my headlights,tails,corners lights all that..
duplicolor armorcoated my lip and skirts,
ordered a engine wiring harness
deleted the ABS.. trying to decide if i want to redo all the lines or just mount the prop valve on the firewall..
installed the battery in the trunk and made measurements for my new charge harness...
painted the crusty rusty stock wheels.. these will be getting ditched soon after the car is running and used as winter wheels

i dont have many pics but i guess its better then nothing

a previous owner i guess though they knew how to repair rust... i saw a crack in the fender and started beating out chunks of bondo.. guess ill be patching that up LMAO for now i just used my die grinder to get off the excess rust primered it and covered it up with some tape so no water will get in.. i plan to make a proper patch next chance i get.. i work 6 days a week now

Re: :::s3xrapt0r::: 93 prelude si

heres a little more progress.. i did my timing belt today.. and painted the cam gears and tok off the balance shaft belt.. ill remove it completely if the vibrations arent too bad with out the belt.. also i installed my fuel rail and ordered obd2 to obd1 injector pigtails. so i can use the original h23a injectors instead of h22s

Re: :::s3xrapt0r::: 93 prelude si

I hear you on having no time. I know dat feel. =(

Those cam gears and valve cover are a work of art. Nice job.

Discovering rust like that is never a good feeling. In on this thread to see another cancer treatment. =)

Re: :::s3xrapt0r::: 93 prelude si

thank you sir ! cancer treatment will come soon enough.. as soon as i know she cranks over im moving straight to working on the body ;) al i need to fire it up is a driverside mount,flywheel and bellhousing bolts,p28 ecu and to run my charge harness wires :) oh and of course a battery.. but i got a jump box lol

i have a good amount of body work to do the previous owner rolled the fenders with a bat (i assume because of how jacked up they are) so im going to see how my wheels fit and attempt to fix it.. im going with square g6s in 17x9 with a 15 offset.. hopefully i can smooth out the hackjob with a little bondo and a hammer/fender roller :\

i dont have a pic but right now my trans is degreased and im going to hit that with a clean silver and all the brackets with black
