(sorry for big images, i have trouble resizing)
Hello! i will finally begin my prelude story. In the summer of last year, i traded my CB7 (perfect cruising car ever! In excellent condition, best running car i ever had with chrome rims lol) fora 93 prelude, now my plan for my accords (i had 4) was to obtain an H22 engine, once i got an offer of a prelude with a jdm h22 for my cb7, i immediately was interested. Soon enough, we made a deal and trade. The car had plenty of problems when i first got it, all which were fixed so long ago that i cant even remember what some of the problems were lol. Only mods it had when i got it was the blue interior, DC headers, apexi muffler, CAI, and the lexus rear (which i hate).
This is how i got it.

we also made a deal for him keeping my old bass system in the cb7, and me keeping the Wings West lip kit he didnt have installed on the lude. so of course, the first thing i did was slap that on! (there was strangely not enough space behind the side of the bumper to screw the lip on properly, so i thought id might as well go for a track look since my plan was to build it as a track car)

My friends eg6

One of my closest friends had just bought a cb7 to get into the scene, and it came with a nice set of 18" rims. ICW Osaka 535's to be exact, and since he did not know anything about cars, he gave it to me in return of fixing up his car when ever he bought something.

Just put on the rims

I had bought and installed a previous bass system for the prelude, very expensive subs and amp, and head unit. I DO have an Viper Alarm system, but for some reason, one particular night, the alarm would not activate!! It was 1 in the morning and i had to sleep, so i disconnect the distributer and some wires, to ensure no one is getting away, at least not fast, with my car, then went off to bed. and what do you know! someone did in fact, about 1-2 hours later, DID try to jack my prelude, and took the whole stereo system!! ripped everything out, son of a beaches!!!! i alerted the police, filed a report, and what a surprise (sarcasm) no luck-_- Word around the block is that there was an "ese" with universal keys, who would always (according to neighbors and friends) jack cars and ditch em if they dont have anything in them. i have tried many times to confront/find this guy, but i never had a clear chance. Sooooo, i went on and invested in another system, except! my subs are BOLTED down in the trunk very solid and tight, as my amp will be also.

soon after, i sanded and painted the car primered black insead of that light gray, and also sprayed the lip with some gloss. starting to look good!

I had an extra bass system, so my friend wanted to trade me some 7k HIDs for the subs, i had no use for the subs, so i said sure. it would look good with my one piece headlights! i also took the time to rewire the bumper lights to the one piece headlight corners.

when i had both the prelude and my new project cb7 (sold it, no money for investments)

i began working on the engine bay next, it was very ugly, and messy, i dont think anyone should treat/leave a jdm H22 like that!! haha. and why is it so damn hard to find the spark plug cover!? MAN! that was a mission!! took me a month! but when i did, it came sticker bombed, good enough. i spent a whole 2 days on wire tucking, relocations, shaving, and painting! i actually followed most instructions and had help from this forum!
This is what i started with..

Doesnt look too bad from a distance, right? lol

Converted the battery to the back! Got the power line off of a mercedez in the junkyard, got dame! that thing was HARD to get out of that benz, but its one of the best power lines there is!

i started with the passengers side first,

then on with the difficult egr relocation and power steering removal,

in 2 days of hiding, tucking, sanding, filling, and shaving, i say i did pretty damn good as for this being my first wire tuck!! I also did ALL of the prelude diy mods on the engine while i was working around it(coolant bypass, butterfly removal and more). also bought brand new parts, VC breather, TWE oil catch can (keep cleaner intake mani), duralast pcv valve, megan racing bar and No help or shops used.

there was one main part bothering me, and that was my rusty muffler! had to take care of it, #DO WORK!!

next was to work on my rear end, till i get new parts and welding work done to turn it back to normal, or atleast make it look natural as best as i can.

blacked out the trunk interior lights (from the lexus cars -_-) added a blue tow hook just for the hell of it.

about 2 months ago, On my way of taking my mom to the bank, there was a huge tug on my front drivers wheel, i reversed into a lot (i was holding traffic, it was a busy day) and upon reversing, i hear a CLACK! CLAACCK! pow!. knowing something terrible went wrong in my wheel area, i relaxed, called a friend, and ate some cupcakes i had in my car. took a long breath, and what do you know, axle is popped out, lower control arm popped off, wheel is crushed into the fender,....and i remember that day was a really bad day.

car gets towed home

i had no official job, only way i was making money at the time was by gigs, so!!! i had to sacrifice my wings west kit, sold it for only 175 because i knew it would sell fast. now it was time to order new parts, and play the waiting game. About 2 weeks later they arrived. now its time to #DO WORK!!

Am I hellaflush yet!!!!?????

While i was working on my wheel and all that stuff, one of my close friends wanted to remove my latch and help install my Locking key hoodpins i had gotten off of ebay, with his welding/cutting experience, why not?

while the car was sitting waiting for the parts, i used that opportunity to redo the engine bay and make it legit as i possibly can! Filled every whole and sanded that i did not need or use, and added on 3 layers of clear coat, also did other little details like brand new bolts ect.

Car is up and running the next day! but seems too bald without any lips, junkyards! here i come looking for that CD5 accord front and rear lip!! hahaha,

Got the lips, cleaned, sanded, and painted!!

time to install! front:

rear

"stage 3 clutch" - OVERKILL

remember that your cars DD driveability suffers if youre aiming to 270hp

Wow nice lude man, never would've thought those wheels would look good on a lude but you pulled it off.

I agree with the rear...pretty tacky looking. Goodluck to you restoring it back to OE. Actually the tail lights aren't half bad...would take a lot of fab work to get back to normal so maybe consider keeping them...would make your lude look unique for sure. Just see if you can get a non hacked up trunk to put on maybe?

Re: :::JDflushM::: 1993 VTEC

270whp all motor is like 20 grand in an H22...just ask 98vtec haha...and he probably has the most powerful all motor H22 (well H23A vtec but close enough) in the world right now @ 281whp.

I know someone locally who put over 10 grand in his H22 and he's hoping for over 230whp NA.

I have roughly put 26k$ to my car (including car + parts + maintenance AND work) and maybe I'll get ~240hp

Heres how it looks a little more lowered, and i placed the oil catch can between the brake master cylinder and clutch master cylinder. (had to take off the mount of the cluch master cylinder, slightly bent it, then bolted back on, did this to have more space between the brake and clutch MC's so i can place the catch can there)

Re: :::JDflushM::: 1993 VTEC

I always thought you'd want a catch can on the tube that runs to the intake before the TB rather than the PCV tube? Does one spot have benefits over the other? I've been interested in getting a catch can installed for awhile, still haven't done it though :)

Keeps oil sludge from valve blow-by from building up in the IM. Did you ever see that pic I posted somewhere of the inside of my stock IM?

Ive done alot of searching before installing, and found that usually you can just throw a VC breather on the part where the tube goes into the air intake, but you will always HAVE to have the PCV hose connected, i "think" the hose that you are talking about functions the same as well, but i usually see breathers thrown in tht place on good tuned set ups, so i put the catch can at the PCV, which has, been collecting oil over time. but i have seen it in the place your talking about a few times, and i dont know if its just my imagination but i think i do feel more smoother mid-range to top end power..

at high RPM's, (i forgot which thread i seen this at) our engines allow oil to escape back into the intake manifold, although catch cans are more beneficial on turbo applications, the catch can on a NA or stock engine helps keep the intake manifold clean (which prolongs the life) and avoid getting oil into the intake manifold. Its suppose to help stop oil burning also. There are a few threads about the catch cans on our engines like these..
Greddy oil catch can
Oil Catch Can
i bought it for only 30$ brand new so i said why not?? Havent had a bad outcome with it.
