Update!

So these the next thing to do is fix the damage caused by the vandalism in my neighbourhood awhile ago:

Also I took some pics after I washed / waxed her for the new emblems and the fender work:

That's all for now, new update coming when I fix the damage :)

Very nice! Also have a 95 SR-V, I wish it was in black though, lol, and didn't have rust. :(

A front lip on there would really improve the look.

Btw what sound was your motor making that made you think it was the auto tensioner? I really need to get doing mine this summer (auto>manual).

It was kind of hard to explain. Like when you have a blender and something is in it that just won't blend. It turned out it was the crankshaft pully bolt. Thing was loose. If your motor is making a weird noise get a shop to check out if the crankshaft pulley bolt is loose. Kinda hard to do yourself.

Also yeah, looking in to getting a spoon lip (replica of course).

re: :::GARURUMON:::1995 Honda Prelude SR-V

Looking real clean, this car has a lot of potential.

I would look into getting a cold air intake or going back to stock unless more engine mods are in order. Short ram intakes are more hurtful than help imo. Also is that a no-name front strut? Make sure it doesn't bend or give when you give it some hard pulls and push, and if it does, trash it and get a real one. The struts are supposed to keep the body stiff, and if it gives when you pull and tug on it, its worthless.

If you could snag some JDM fogs, the front would look awesome!

Yeah, once my cheque comes I can buy some goodies like a nice polished cold air intake as well as headers and a catback exhaust.

The strut bar is surprisingly solid, it has no give when I tug on it. As for JDM fog lights, I would have better luck finding a unicorn

Nothing as of yet. My OEM tails should be coming any day now, and I have a cheque coming from the government that will pay for something Maybe lots of goodies, or a catback exhaust, or maybe hytech reps, we will see. What I want to do:

Speedy Lite 5's in 17x7, wrapped in Achilles ATR Sport 215/40/r17
Hytech Tri Y replica header
Megan Racing catback exhaust
Magnaflow cat
Red Lugs
New spoiler (OEM style)
a JDM decal (not tacky, you guys will see ;) )
Tein basis coilovers (maybe)
Mugen seatbelt covers
new shift knob
New cams
Ralzo RZ performance pulleys
Oil catch Can
Apexi NEO tuning system

All in all I can source all of these parts, with shipping and taxes for about 4k. Not bad.

In other news, I have an interview at the bank on friday, they start at considerably higher than my last job (Aeropostale clothing store), so wish me luck.

Also gonna ask the mods to move this thread to the members ride section

yeah I hear bad things from them. get what you pay for. they wear extremely fast too.

A lot of Prelude guys say they love the Falken Azenis RT615...that's an option to consider. $135/tire. I would've grabbed those if my wheels didn't already come with some decent tires.

Achilles tires are garbage? Very interesting. I bought two new and ride just fine. I am aware of achilles is the lowest brand line of tires but oh well i got them for a deal that i cannot refuse.

The thing is, my tire choice is limited because the site that I am ordering from only has specific tires you can choose for the package with the wheels.

Anyone have any experience with nitto neo gens? The reviews look pretty good.

Re: :::GARURUMON:::1995 Honda Prelude SR-V

So, update...

I looked at my sunroof bracket today (it was 14 degrees outside and I had the sunroof open) and what do you know. I see some rust. So I drove home and found some time to look at her. This is what I found after I got the sunroof off and took it apart:

So time to crack out some leftover paint I had from painting my fender and some other things:

Then I painted after using a metal brush head for my drill and sandpaper and a few hours:

And one last coat around the edge for good luck:

And now it looks perfect :)

Also some dummy had some spacers in between the brackets and the sunroof which raised it, and let water in. Wouldn't have even known. I got rid of those and now it sits perfectly flush.

That's all for now, I'm wondering why my tail lights haven't come yet :( Should be any day now, they passed customs 5 days ago...

Re: :::GARURUMON:::1995 Honda Prelude SR-V

I got them about a year ago and was surprisingly pleased with them until I really started to test them. They wear extremely fast they do not handle camber very well. I had 3 go bad on me within 3k miles on them. Not worth their weight in dog $hit if you ask me. I will never buy them or Amy other cheap tires ever again. And if I do, they're going to be used tires for 20$ each lol.

Re: :::GARURUMON:::1995 Honda Prelude SR-V

So, bad news.

My tail lights work great, every light works and is fine. No burnt out bulbs. But my BRAKE LAMP light is on... it comes on when I start my car and stays on. I checked my brake fluid reservoir and sensor, both are fine. So I took a look at my wiring... And every connection is good and fine. The only thing I don't understand is this:

There appears to be only 7 wires coming in, and 8 wires coming out. This "lost wire" doesn't have a metal adapter inside, insinuating that there was never a wire in the first place. The white housings that are in there were not the ones that came on my car, although mine had a wire running a ground through there. The white housing bits are from a '92, and mine is a '95... but they all say the same part #'s. I'm stumped.

Then I came across this:

Sweet dyna. What in god's name has been done to this wiring? This was actually working and providing power to my rear right speaker. My left on the other hand (haha, punny) was not producing any sound, and it had the same wiring. I checked all connections and got rid of the middle green connection wire, then put it back together and reconnected the wires. Now both left and right speakers work. And, they are not stock! They are aftermarket MTX audio speakers! Bonus!!

Then, another problem. I noticed my 6x9 in the back (in between the passenger seats) was not providing sound and neither were my tweeters... My tweeters are wired up, which makes no sense. The 6x9 wasn't even connected to the wiring harness... So I connected it. Still doesn't work... Then I took out my deck to see what was wrong... Then this. Sh!t.

It doesn't seem too bad in the pictures, but it is horrible. My brother (the one with the gloves) told me to say screw it and buy a new wiring harness for my speakers and go back to stock. But I don't have a stock deck... Sigh.

Any help on the "BRAKE LAMP" light would be greatly appreciated as I just spent the last 5 hours trying to get rid of it, checking wires, fuses, fluid levels, etc. Also my trunk has no lining in it as of now, to work on the wiring.

Whoever wired this car for a sub and amp before should seriously jump off a bridge. I hate you, whoever you are.

Re: :::GARURUMON:::1995 Honda Prelude SR-V

So, the car is in pieces. Nearly every part of the wiring is altered in some way... as it sits right now my seats and all interior trim is out, the dash is almost out and the carpet is 1 step away from being completely out. Productive day!

Tomorrow is getting the dash out and finding out exactly what is wrong with all of my wiring. Also I found a random cable running under my carpet to the trunk that wasn't connected to anything :l

So... Progress?

This is what has to be fixed / potentially re wired...

This one is kind of hard to see, just some broken connections and random wires behind it

I only have about a week to fix this before I have to put my car back together and be able to drive it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Good stuff! Can't wait to see how the painting looks.

You don't even need a seat in the car haha, I suppose you could bolt one in though for extra safety.

The color is incredible. I am painting my valve cover with it and the strut bar.. Although I might need to re-do the valve cover to get out the old texture. It looks unreal though. Also I fake carbon fiber vinyl wrapped my valve cover insert and coated it in clear coat, and it looks godly. This with my valve cover looks incredible! Still having so many ****ing problems with my wiring... I took out the sketchy rigged up wiring the previous owner had for fogs and I am missing a whole bunch of stuff inside. Sigh. And no one on here will even give me the slightest clue as to what to do.

Ahahaha wiring! Aaarrghh! I had that brake light problem when I got my Prelude too. I checked all the wiring for the brake lights and spoiler LED..turned out the previous owner did some funky stuff with the E-brake wiring for whatever reason and didn't have it grounded properly. Drove me nuts for a good couple weeks. God I hate ****in wiring. Good luck man.
