:::ownski's 93 SI:::

Sup, my name's Jon. I'm from south jersey.. traded my 93 plymouth voyager minivan that I paid $500 for, for a 93 honda prelude si.. Thought it was a pretty good deal
I got this car about 4 days ago and it was dirty as hell! I took the seats out and cleaned out the interior..fixed the climate control problem and the servo motor was dirty, fixed that too.
Front bumper is hit on the passenger side.. looks pretty ugly..
Some quick pics.. will take more and of the bumper when I have some time

Edit: that piece of wood is to hold up my seat.. it's broken so it won't stay up.. plan to fix it this week lol

Re: New from NJ

some no name cheap ass bucket seats lol the previous owner was kinda on the big side.. and it seems the guy before that had fun with the car. i have a pink painted air intake lol and the engine light was missing but I replaced it and it hasn't come on yet. The guy said that it didn't pass inspection due to idle reasons. it idle's at around 1100 ish..
it has aftermarket headers. no idea what kind..

Re: New from NJ

Update for my prelude.

Tune up, oil+spark plugs replaced.
Fixed leaky clutch master cylinder. (Didn't have a small enough ratchet to get to the slave cylinder bolts so that's going to happen next week. Yay I get to bleed again >_>..)
Replaced the cracked front turn signals with clear ones.
Replaced ugly red tail lights to clears.
Replaced back bumper lights to clear.

I'm pretty broke so bear with me!
To do list:
slave cylinder
install cat.
One of my radius rods are twisted. needs replacement.
need a couple of steering/suspension parts (sway bar links, tie rods.. etc)
so does the rear.
a/c still doesn't work. probably going to check expansion valve. (already fixed the climate control and servo motor)
get a new bumper.
fix rust on hood and quarter panels.
and probably some more problems that are bound to come up but this is my mini-goal list for now.
Any opinions, thoughts, questions, insults?

Re: New from NJ

would have taken a pic of the cat un-installed but it was rushed and I didn't have my phone to take a pic lol

I'm glad I spent the extra 20 bucks to get the magnaflow instead of the oem cat. Was well worth it!

The car came with a pipe! However, it's too long so it needs to be cut and welded.
Took it to penn muffler and they're charging me about
$80 for labor
$21 for gaskets
$4.99 for weld

Plus tax and everything it comes out to about to $117. Know anyone that would do it cheaper?

you're pretty far away from me,the gas and turnpike toll will suck.
I already have the screws, so i'm just going to buy the gaskets get it cut and do it myself. I think that's the best way imo!

you have to think about where these parts are stored after they leave magnaflo's facility. Each distributors warehouse is different, some are climate controlled, some aren't. your product isn't used if the inside is clean, it was just kept in an unconditioned warehouse.

ownski everything looks great man.

the cat was a little dirty on the inside, i figured from a test run for them to make sure it was working properly. but now more i think about it, i really think they sold me a used cat....... im kinda pissed about it actually

but anywho, i think i said it before but your intake came out really nice, who the **** would paint their intake pink though??? maybe if they had more of the engine bay cleaned up and different parts pink too or something, but just grime and pink????????

the previous owner only had it for 2k miles. I saw it in the title when I went to the dmv. He got it in march from the guy who was originally working on it and he's the one who painted it pink. It was apparently for his g/f.. or he was just gay

I had some left over paint from touching up the rusty spots so I just sprayed away until it was white lol so it's not really professionally done but looks wayyyy better than the pink.

&I also think they sold you a used cat. Shops are sharks.
