:::b86::: '93 BB2

Hi i'm new here, i come from Slovenia and i have been Prelude owner now for 4 years

Here is a short retrospective about my journey with the Prelude

It was a stock Milano Red BB2 when i bought it, had rust on wheel arches and few other spots:

i did a few basic mods to her, like 17' wheels, exhaust, exhaust header, sri, window tinting etc.

The wheel arches were rusting badly so i decided for a complete overhaul (i apologize for some ****ty pictures, they
were taken with my phone camera at the time)

the car was "torn apart", and the rear fenders were changed and rust spots repaired:

then the car was painted in Daytona Blue Pearl on the outside and matt black on the inside...

i also took care of the bottom of the car (underbody protection) and suspension, all parts were sandblasted and powder coated...

and started the assembly:

few goodies and a new exhaust...

then i got the car tuned on a Mustang Dyno

the results were (on Mustang Dyno):

226.5 HP @ 7250
244Nm @ 5500

on crank

Mods list and a few pics:

ENGINE

- newly rebuilt H22A2 engine swap (stock bottom end)
- energy suspension motor mount bushings
- overhauled transmission with Accord Type R LSD and new oil
- XTD stage 3 clutch
- PDE head with cams (Accord Type R)
- modified Euro R intake manifold (Accord Type R)
- STR 68mm Throttle body
- short ram intake
- Tri-y replica SS header
- decat
- modified Megan Racing SS catback
- AEM power Pulleys

INTERIOR

- JDM automatic climate control
- two way car alarm
- S2000 start button
- dynamat insulation
- EL gauges
- x-line oil pressure and temperature gauges
- newer tweeter covers
- integra type R shift knob
- shortshifter

EXTERIOR

- JDM power folding mirrors
- EDM replica lip kit (front and sideskirts)
- new Daytona Blue Paint
- White turn signals on front and fenders
- tinted windows
- 17 inch alloy wheels PLW PU with 215/40 -17 tyres
- antenna and rear fog light gone

SUSPENSION/CHASSIS/BRAKES

- 4WS added
- Megan racing Strut bars
- KYB AGX manually adjustable shocks
- H & R springs
- full energy suspension bushing kit
- Goodridge SS brake lines
- slotted rotors on front
- new DOT 5.1 brake fluid

I.C.E

- working on it

MISC

- most of the bolts changed for stainless steel
- italian horns

FUTURE MODS

- interior overhaul
- xenon retrofit in onepiece headlights
- led retrofit in rear lights

I still must fix the Power Steering because some debries came into the fluid and messed up the pump, so right now i am driving without PS (that's why there is no PS belt on)

I also have a Sebring Silver Metallic BB3 for a daily driver

that's it for today :)

cheers

Beautiful!

Great car. Lots of work put into it, very nice.

And damn, your English is pretty damn good for a fellow out of Slovenia.

Re: my prelude

thanks for the compliments

it took me 2 years to get it done because i had a lot of work at my faculty and the painter was delaying his job and so on...

but i am happy that i got to this point I almost gave up in the middle of the project, because there was still so much
to do and i didn't see any progress especially while i was cleaning the underbody (i hate that part of the build)

anyway, the car is far from complete (regarding the modifications), i think there's still much to do... and it will be done.

btw. i screwed up with the thread title... and can't change it because it only changes the post title so i beg if anyone from the
admins could change it for me into :::b86::: '93 BB2

Re: :::b86::: BB2

Right now i am satisfied with the power, so no plans on doing any more mods on the engine at least for a while...
but maybe i'll do something cause i still have a spare h23 block lying around in my garage but i am thinking more
about NA than turbo or maybe JRSC :) but time will tell...

Well about the xtd clutch, at first i thought it's worn out, cause everytime i tried to drive off, the car was shaking,
i've heard some rumors that it's because of the 6 puck design, anyway other than that it grips good, to avoid the
shaking you just have to drive off with a little more gas (like grandmas do )

My friend has Exedy stage 1 and works great only the pedal feel is a little harder, which is better in my opinion...

Let me warn you about the megan exhaust, the inner diameter is 2.25' not 2.5' as some traders say and the brackets
for the exhaust are welded on the wrong spots, the end muffler is sticking out to much, about 4 inch (my guess is they
were making this exhaust for european honda accord or Honda Ascot Innova because it looks similar and is a little longer)
The sound is good just a little to loud (i am thinking about changing the middle muffler)

knowing this, i would go with skunk2, much better build quality...

Re: :::b86::: BB2

Holy sh!t man, I'd say that is a complete overhaul. Going to be doing the exact same thing with mine in replacing the rear quarter panels cause of the rust. Dyno numbers look great, thanks for sharing!

I was thinking the same thing. I've seen 4ws preludes up close and never noticed that whole setup. Its the painted silver components in the drivers side rear wheel well.

Amazing car BTW... The color is amazing and the amount of work you put into it is insane.

Re: :::b86::: '93 BB2

For the lip kit, here is the ebay link from where i bought it:

Honda Prelude Body Kit (Bubble) | eBay

it's supposed to be replica of the original EDM prelude lip kit, i like only the front lip and sideskirts, the rear lip doesn't
look that good, i'll make my own version, in the winter

about the pipe, i guess you are talking about the fuel pipe that goes to the fuel tank it was galvanized in silver... usually
it's hidden underneath a big plastic cover...

i have torn apart few 4th gens and noticed (if you are doing an underbody protection) that it's good to look at the fuel
lines that go to the fuel tank, because they are usually very rusty and maybe even better, take the fuel tank off
because there is usually a lot of rust :)

few pictures of when i was sanding down the rust, i'm glad it was only on the surface...

then i painted it with first primer

then i applied the sealant for joints

after that came the second two component primer (gray in the upper pictures) and black underbody protection...

this work was a pain in the ass but i'm glad it's over

i just prepared the car to have a good base for tuning...
