thank you. There is obviously some areas that need touched up, such as the valve cover, maybe new hoses, fresh paint, etc. but all in all i like the oem look. Right now i got the engine torn down (still in the car), because i believe i warped my head or something along the line. Im getting ready to pull it out and rebuild it. Also im not sure if i wanna powdercoat the rims or buy new ones.

yeah it popped out on me one day while driving, could never get it to stick again. But i no longer have the issue with the den thing. its completly gone for now, my cd player got jacked so its pretty much useless atm. but soon enough, when it comes im just going to use a double adhesive to bond it together but still removeit if i need to. lol the name is just about my name for everything lol, its amazing, and alot of people dont get it.

Re: :::uraverticalsmile::: 1997 Prelude SH

lol. yeah, it had tint that came with the car when i bought it (uninstalled) but im from a small town of like 550ppl so i didnt wanna pay out the a$$ at the small shop in town and i didnt trust ne1 with my baby. so now that im able to get to a better shop instead of a shady con artist, i plan on getting it done. and as far as alarms go, should i get a remote alarm (are they hard to install) and whats the usual price range for those??

Re: :::uraverticalsmile::: 1997 Prelude SH

quick question: I just noticed this on other preludes, but across the back bumper theirs says prelude, yet mine doesnt... ...any explanation, or is it an option from the factory?

Re: :::uraverticalsmile::: 1997 Prelude SH

^Previous owner shaved them off.. I shaved mine.. No homo lol

I would get a 2 way alarm.. I got mine from best buy.. It retailed for $500 (bad boy viper alarm)

What I would do is talk to someone that looks cool that works in the audio section and ask them if they would buy the alarm for you with their employee discount (60% off) for a $50 tip (I walked there with the guy and he told them it was a present for me and that it was going in my car.. I paid about $200 with installation

The cannot get you the discount while they are working so go up there and make friends and then try it when one of them is not clocked in..

Does look good. Looks like you also need a short throw shifter and at least a front lip. It's nice the Type SH's come with painted rear and side's!

Re: :::uraverticalsmile::: 1997 Prelude SH

Now that I look at that shifter, is that the stock one? Cause every other one I've seen looks different…..If I'm not mistaken(and thats not the stock one…), the OEM one is shorter…..

Rest OEM
For on the street use, you don't really need a engine upgrade so long as:

1:You don't regularly find yourself going to slow into a corner and/or in the wrong gear because the stock VTEC engine has more then enough power for one to use in making minor ,last second speed corrections as one nears a corner so long as your driving technique is not to atrocious.

2:So long as you don't find yourself on a regular basis running above 89 mph on public roads because acceleration drops way off after shifting to 4th at 90mph to a acceleration rate below 5mph/sec.1st,2nd and 3rd gear power is more then adequate and entertaining for any semi sane on the street driver.

Interior
OEM

1:Buy new floor mats from an on line company that makes mats sized just for your car.If you can find a OEM set ,good for you.
2:Buy a new OEM shift knob if the one you have is in poor condition because time is running out on availability of such a purchase.Keep in mind installing a short shifter with out first installing a lighter fly wheel that would require a faster shift is nothing but useless rice.
3:Get one of those house type power liquid rug cleaners that has a upholstery attachment and clean the seats and carpet.You won't believe just how much muck one of these liquid cleaners can remove even if you are one that vacuums your car all the time..

Exterior
OEM

Your car comes from the factory complete with the total areo package which includes a front air dam, trim that channels the air under the engine ,along the sides, in the rear behind the wheels and along the top of the trunk lid.Any thing more is just rice so don't meddle with such a practical and visual work of art . You also have unique, 5 spoke SH wheels which is a modern upgrade from the saw blade wheels whose design dates back to 1988.If you want to in some way personalize your car ,an upgrade to 17" wheels would be the way to go ,and as a side benefit ,would give you a wider selection of performance tires to choose from.

Re: :::uraverticalsmile::: 1997 Prelude SH

nice 'lude...i would install a bypass valve on that cold air intake if you plan on driving in the rain...one good puddle and bye bye h222a4. lol aem makes them, just measure the diameter of your intake pipe and order one. it is well worth the $50. (You dont want to learn that the hard way like I did.)
