Re: :::{s13carr}::: 98 Base 'Pearl'

I think that is the same strut bar a girlfriend got me. I am having a time trying to install it. I see the side with the slot cut out you installed on the driver side? Any tricks you may have used to install it?

Yeah I had to take all the pieces of the strut bar apart and then installed the ends over the strut. Hand tighten and then connect the bar to the two ends. Torque everything down from there. For some reason the bar will fit backwards from the way that it looks like it should install. P.S. the driver side strut tower will require some finesse to get the end around the brake hard lines that lead to the abs regulator.

All in all I MADE the strut tower bar fit... thats what you get when you buy meagen knock off stuff.

I am going to be replacing both tower bars with bars from esp.net
check em out they are high quality and they offer some suspension pieces for preludes that you cant find anywhere else

hope that helps

So I have now installed all of these parts except for the Lowering springs. I decided to just go with coilovers so I can raise the car back up for winter.

So after I got everything installed I was driving my car the next day and my crankshaft pulley is wobbling so bad it throws the ps pump belt and almost the alt belt before I get home. I do my research and find that this is a common problem for an h22. So Majestic Honda got another 165 buck out of me for a new Pulley, Pulley Bolt, Timing Key, and both belts. (not too bad in my opinion)

Now that everything is installed Pearl is purring like a kitten (except for the ps pump which is growing louder as it is slowly failing... next round of maintenance will call for a new/used pump and fluid flush) The stainless steel clutch line, master, and slave cylinders took about 100 miles to get broken in but now my clutch engages perfect and no more leaks.

JTC customs short shifter and mugen shift knob is the perfect combo for me. I love the look and feel of the shifter. I will post pics up soon.

Exterior refresh: The new molding and weather stripping look great and really transform the exterior in person (imo). I ordered some touch up paint as well as some clear coat and will be touching up the paint chips and scratches soon. Pearl does have a few dents down the passenger side but not every car can be perfect... till I get a new door and have it painted and have someone roll the crease out of the rear fender then it will be close to perfect.

After I do the paint touch up I will post some detailed pics up (before and after on some of the paint spots if I can)
