Lots of work you have already done and have planned in the future. Please don't give up on this project, seems like you won't though. I want to see this car when she's finished. Post up all your pics too, inquiring minds want to know! Great job so far, keep it up!

Re: :::Sxs::: 1992 S

Tomorrow is a busy day for me. Spent about $300 bucks at O'Reilly's today. Plan on finishing my vents, last touches on the bumper then primer. After that I gotta change my valve cover gasket. Figured since it will be off now is the time to sand it and re wrinkle black it. Then I gotta do the front brakes, Seafoam, oil/filter, air filter, plugs. Then IF I have time I'll start doing some more of the wire tuck. My new injector O-rings won't be in until around next Wed they said. Got signs of moisture I discovered today while tucking the harness.

I'll try to get a new camera or use someone elses, or better yet fix mine so it can focus. The engine bay shot was taken with it today and you can see its not wanting to focus anymore. That and its a GoPro Hero cam that I've had for about 2 years now, so I guess its lived its life.

Re: :::Sxs::: 1992 S

A few before and after pics from earlier this week.

Door panel before:

After:

Door handle before:

After: (Bad pic buts its mint from a totaled one at the junk yard)

Antenna:

Misc body:

I'll post pics tomorrow when I finish sanding. Its been a pain but most of it is getting close. I'll plan on getting some pics of the vent process up tomorrow as well.

Oh and ALL stickers were removed and the little blue neons the guy had on it. I bought this car last week for those who didn't know. I'll post updates/pics as I can. I'm in the Army and rather poor so it might be slow at times when it comes down to the more expensive components.

Re: :::Sxs::: 1992 S

Right now I'm leaning towards black. My buddy had his Miata pained Satin black and it looked sick but I'm not really wanting flat black on it.

If I don't go black I'd lean towards a copper color or maybe white. I can never really make up my mind.

Side note anyone know if Discount Tire does free balancing? Someone told me they do free balancing but I've never actually been there.

I have a vibration coming from the wheels around 40 MPH. Checked the lugs and everything so I'm just going to have them balanced to check another box. I have an appointment at 9 am in the morning that I made on their site yet I can't find ANY info on their site on prices.

I believe if you bought the tires from them and have the receipt then they will balance them for free but if not then prepared to be charged.

... Oh well I guess around $12 each isn't to bad. I'll call them in the A.M. about a hour before I head out to double check. I'll let you know if they do it for free or not. (fingers crossed)

lol Yeah I'm going to do what I can. Takes me a while to do anything with work and then working on every ones car on Fort Hood after work. Hardest part for me so far is finding 4rth gens in the junk yard. I managed to realize none of the gauges on my dash work minus my tach. Well that and my check engine light, SRS, etc work. I know the temp/fuel gauge board is fried. As for the speedometer I tried two (buddy had a spare). Works when I hit bumps. I'm going to look at the sensor later on and see if I can get it to stay on.

Countless problems, but $700 w/ a title and running and rather new tires so I can't complain to much. Not as fun to drive as my 86 but I'll get it there.

Oh and got a free ski rack today = win. Some say its rice but I board when I go home so its rice with a purpose.

Well at least you got a whole car for your $700.00. I just took my ol' lady to a concert (Papa Roach in San Bernadino) on Sunday that she won tickets to from the radio. Papa Roach didn't even show up, they got stuck in London because of the weather. The other 3 bands sucked and on my way home, right around the corner from the parking lot I just left, I hit a pothole that was covered in water (I had no chance of seeing it) and got an instant flat. I went around the corner and parked on the side of the road to check it out and sure as shiz it was flat. Don't forget that it's pouring rain outside. I call my tire guy from work and he comes out, it's like 10PM at night on Sunday. He brought me a tire that he had to hunt down (225/40/18) because he doesn't usually have those, took off my rim and then told me that I was out of luck that my rim was done. I looked at the rim and it was broken with a 1/4" gap for about 14-15"!!!! He said he could come back in the morning to bring me a new rim and tire. I had to spend the night in a hotel (more money) and the next day more bad news, my rim was discontinued and he couldn't find one anywhere. Now I had to either get a mismatching rim or buy a whole new set of rims and tires. I ended up getting a new set of rims and tires because I didn't really like the 18's because of the size anyways for a commuter. Well he says because of the weather he can't get the rims and tires that day either that I will have to wait one more day! Another day in the hotel, and we're not talking about nice accommodations either, don't forget this is San Bernadino.. So he shows up the next day about noon and $630.00 later I'm on the road again. Oh yeah did I mention that I dropped my Sprint Evo and shattered the glass on the front of the phone too Total for my girl wanting to go to the concert cost me around $1200.00. Yeah I'm pissed.

ENough with the rant though sorry..

Re: :::Sxs::: 1992 S

That sucks man. My buddy had the same problem with his Scooby. He got t boned and his rim shattered but they were discontinued. Oh and my 86 Corolla GTS got totaled because someone thought they were a pro drifter and hit my car....

What size did you go with this time? This is my first Lude so I'm used to rolling on Si's or Fat Fives on my other Honda's. Going to get rid of these 17s one day. Not high on my list but its there.

Re: :::Sxs::: 1992 S

I got some Motegi SP10's in 15" with GoodYears. My boy hooked it up because for $630.00 you're not gonna find that in a store you know. As far as 17's go I have something in mind for the Prelude in that size, actually 2 sets of rims. I like the big wheels but not for commuting.

Re: :::Sxs::: 1992 S

Thanks everyone.

Good old Texas is doing its normal which is random weather so its raining today... Guess I'll finish the body work on Christmas.

But rain means I can still do crap in my barracks room. Working on the vents today and if I get them finished up I'll pull out my climate control and change out the L.E.D.s in it since I get bored easy.

Start:

Dremel bit I used. I'm poor so it made do:

Cutting:

Finally. With that bit it took forever since my drill is cordless and likes to die every 5 minutes:

Patched the holes, getting ready for the sand:

Sanded, one more coat and another good sand then they should be ready for primer.

Few rough spots I need to finish up. I'll post the finished product which might take a while since I have OCD with things being perfect or at least looking like it was meant to be that way.

GoPro Official Store: HD HERO 960 Camera

Yeah it was doing okay. Ended up shutting my hood on it and now it won't focus correctly. I'm going to try and use my buddies camera til I can get another one.

Just pulled out my climate control and getting ready to tear it apart.

Alright I'm going to pick up another camera I found on Craigslist. Once I get back I'll start posting some pics of my climate control LED change. I've got 4 Tilts (since Four Loko's are illegal now in TX....) and a 6 pack of Mickeys so I should be able to get something accomplished tonight.

Re: :::Sxs::: 1992 S

Just finished up the LED change in the climate control.

WARNING to those that want to do this. You need small LED's. I tried using the High Intensity ones which are the same I used on my 3geez Accord and it was a no go. I'm sure if I filed the housing down some it could have fit but I'd rather not deal with it and just used the CORRECT size :P

Photos are still kinda iffy. This camera doesn't want to focus on small things like solder points, etc. But $10 I can't beat it.

Yes I trimmed the wires of the LED sticking out before you ask. Sorry the photos are still kinda blurring. I'm using a $10 camera I got off some hot chick on Craigslist that I had to drive 40 minutes to get.

Re: :::Sxs::: 1992 S

Anyone know what would be a good basemap to get? I'm going to chip my spare P12 and since I have to get a wideband and a new burner I was wanting to know if anyone knew what would be a good basemap to use for my F22 for daily driving until I can get my burner and do some tuning using Crome.

Re: :::Sxs::: 1992 S

Had to replace the valve cover gasket this morning. Decided to clean/sand the valve cover and redo it wrinkle black and leave the lettering silver. The previous owner painted them blue.

Its still drying, I figured I'd let it sit a while before putting it back on the car. Once I get it back on I'll snap some pictures. I have a can of heavy duty degreaser. Plan on cleaning up that bay, but now its 30 something and its a little to chilly even for me.

Also broke my PCV valve -_- Yeah its not expensive but a random thing that shouldn't have happened. It just broke off in my hands I swear.

Anyhow, I should have the vents done today and if there is daylight left I will finish sanding the back end down and reprimer the spots.

Want to finish the wire tuck as well, and yeah I still gotta put my center console back together from where I pulled out the climate control last night to change the LEDs.

Here are some shots of what I have done with the tucking so far ** Yes my bay is dirty, just ignore it unless you want to clean it for me in 30 degree weather lol

Yeah that pesky fuel injector wire popped out on me. I'll fix it when I replace the injector O-rings next week.

Going to pull that cruise control as well since I don't use it and it only makes me fall asleep at the wheel when driving 18 hours back to WV to go home on leave.

Re: :::Sxs::: 1992 S

Vents are done, another coat of primer then a test fitment in the A.M. aka daylight. I'll post pics of them on the car when I get them on the morning.

Re: :::Sxs::: 1992 S

Thanks, yeah lol I'm wanting to go white. I've got all the paint codes I need just it would take more to get it right than a darker color.

Depends how busy I am when the spring hits and I get the money saved up to get a booth.

Re: :::Sxs::: 1992 S

Not 100% sure yet but I plan on boosting.

Internals I would go with D-H Racing for the pistons, Carrillo for the rods, King bearings. Got a guy who does all my head work so I'll go with him for the porting and valve job. Head parts such as valve springs, retainers, and cam will be through Bisimoto.

Fuel system I haven't planned out though I just know I'll need at right under a 700cc injector. Its so far in the future I haven't really looked that much further into it.

Turbo I'll go with something simple to keep the streeability of the car and go with probably a TD04 turbo.
