:::Bass 1::: 1997 Base

I wanted to wait until the car was finished before making a members ride page, but I suppose it would be best to just get this up before I switch hobbies.

I bought my '97 Base 5-Speed about 2 1/2 years ago. It was close to stock, and since then, I've worked to create something I really enjoy driving.

Modifications

Engine: (pretty much stock)
Mugen Twin-Loop cat-back exhaust
K&N drop in air filter
Replaced Fuel Filter with OEM Honda
ERG ports cleaned and replugged
Mobil 1 Full Synthetic Oil and Filter

Wheels and Suspension:
Tokico Illumina adjustable dampers
Ground Control Coilovers
17x8 Drag DR-31's
Pirelli P6000 Tires
Currently sitting about an inch lower than pictures below

Exterior:
Mugen replica spoiler
OEM Side Skirt Kit
JDM Type-S Front Lip
JDM Power Folding Mirrors
JDM Yellow lens Oval foglights
Red Sidemarkers from an accord
Rear Base lip and mudflaps painted to match

Interior:
JDM Type-S gauge cluster (yellow needles, no mph reading, carbon bezel, and SiR bronze rings...yes bronze, not silver)
S2000 AP1 Steering Wheel
Escort Passport SR7 Concealed Radar Detector & Laser Jammer

Overall: Im pretty happy with my Prelude. When driving I rarely use her potential. The only time I ever really beat on the pedals is when i auto cross.
So I guess thats the end of my members ride page.

Oh yeah...almost forgot...pics!

Looks great, very simple and clean. BTW, I don't think you'll ever be "finished" that word isn't included in my car talk vocabulary.

Simplicity is the essence of good design. Anybody who requires evidence of this need look no further.

Thing is so simple, but looks so amazing. How do you go with your track work?

Thank you Brash. What do you mean by 'How do you go with your track work'?
Are you referring to AutoX? Because I notice an annoying amount of under-steer. I haven't installed a stiffer rear sway bar because I am currently waiting for a guy in Iraq to return to purchase his. But I think that it will drastically improve my cornering once installed.

I got the wing from a guy on preludepower.... I believe it is a Wingswest, but i am not positive. There was no manufacturer marking on it. The guy who had it before me mounted it, but didn't paint it. There were 2 sets of hole on the bottom.... one nice set from the factory, and one 'crunchy' looking set of holes from the previous owner. The factory holes didnt even come close to lining up with the trunk lid holes. But the ones drilled by the previous owner were dead on. Obviously, there were no nuts in the fiberglass, so i just used some short 3/8" lag bolts to hold it on... 1.5 years and still no problems.

My advice for mounting one perfectly:
Use double sided tape to position the spoiler where you want it. This way, it will be held in place when drilling your mounting holes in the fiber glass. Then use coarse thread lag bolts to hold the wing securely to the trunk deck. Also, it helps to squirt a bead of silicon caulk around each bolt head. It not only keeps water out, but prevents vibration from loosening the lag bolts.
