This is always changing, but right now i'm trying to focus on my exterior. Currently hunting down a lip kit.

I've always had big plans (in the sense of a college kid) for the lude and here's a few of the things...
IHE
F&F Type 1's
Light to moderate wire tuck
Some nice rims down the road
Finally, a new paint job, probably in a few years time.

Re: :::AwptiK::: 2001 SH

oooo that SH looks minty. imo, the best/cheapest mod you can do is buy a set of lowering springs. something thats not too aggressive will do fine on your stock struts.

Ah, totally forgot about lowering springs. I've been thinking about getting some for a while, so i'll have to add that to the list.

Thanks

Nice and minty. I like it. I cant wait to see what u do with it.

And is there any reason u chose awptic(optic) as your name? Im just wondering if u know anything about a group named optic. Lol

Re: :::AwptiK::: 2001 SH

I really appreciate all the comments guys.

Lindso- The list is going to get a little longer before it gets shorter. I've always had a lot of stuff I wanted to do, just never the time and finances. Now I have a bit of both, enough to make a lot of things happen over time.

blackbb6- Never heard of the group. I used to play CounterStrike and originally used the name Optic. The main sniper in that game is called the Awp, hence Awptic. Then someone on a website I joined had that name already, so it was AwptiK ever since. :)

Re: :::AwptiK::: 2001 SH

Update:

----
In advance, I didn't know I was so bad about writing books in my posts... So thanks to anyone who actually reads it. (tldr: I got a lot of money, going to do my t-belt and spend the rest on mods.)
----

Well, I bought this car from an older couple who only had it for 3 months. The guy said it was his midlife crisis buy, which is pretty cool to know. The downside is, they had no maintenance record, whatsoever. (94,500 miles at the time)

I changed the oil and most of the fluids the day I got her, but slowly the worriedness of whether or not the t-belt has been changed has crept up on me. So today, I went and refinanced my loan so that i'd have enough money to ease all my worries. Got $750 sitting in my account right now, as well as $250 I have sitting in my PayPal (currently at 103,8xx by the way)

So, i'm going to call up a few places tomorrow, one that a friend of mine works at, as well as a Honda and Acura shop like 2 miles away, forgot the name but i'll add it when I get back home tomorrow, and see about quotes. I'm hoping the H/A shop gives a good quote.... I've had quite a few bad experiences taking my last Prelude to a few shops around here.

I'm not sure quite how much, but whatever's left is going towards the car as well. I'll definitely put a huge bash in my Future Mods list, especially with Christmas coming soon. Taking a quick glance at my list up at the top, I'll definitely have to make a whole new list in the near future.

Re: :::AwptiK::: 2001 SH

Two more pics, one I dug up the other day from back in May, and the other is from this past week.

That's my dad's 04 6spd Vette. It is a monster.

Awful cell phone pic, but I don't see my dad too much now so I wanted to catch the chance while I could.

Re: :::AwptiK::: 2001 SH

I feel bad for bumping my thread, my car's hardly snazzy compared to others, but there's going to be something worth looking at eventually for those who do read through :)

Updated the first post to include what i'll be buying with my Christmas Cash. I need to set some more future mods out.

Also, got the timing belt done. Didn't leave me with as much as I thought I would. To add to that, my internet company charged me twice what I thought I was paying (They said $50 and I got a $103 bill). Had a talk with them and i'm paying that now and all of $5 next month haha.

As for future money, my dad is going to give me $500 for Christmas, and pay half of next semester's tuition. My mom is either going to get me the JTC SS or a full set of MB Quart Speakers, possibly both, and the other half of tuition.

AND!
My awesome boss said this week that anyone can get as many hours in as they want. My fiance might hate me a little, but i'm going to double my normal hours.

Re: :::AwptiK::: 2001 SH

Not really a fan of the CF hood/trunk, at least not on a black Prelude.

Here's some new pics from the holidays.

Had a White Day-After Christmas. It was pretty awesome, until my girl said it was too cold to be outside. :(

The JTC SS, on the lowest possible settings (which you can't use without modification), next to the stock one. The top of the stock shifter isn't in the picture, but you can still see how huge of a difference it is. No comments on the dirtiness of my interior. It's killing me just as much as it is for you to see it. The next warm day I have off, it's getting completely detailed.

The shifter installed, on the lowest settings you can have without doing anything. Notice the slight knick on the shifter housing, that was from the first few times getting into 2nd. I drove with the entire center console off for 3-4 days and just put it back in today. It looks so low with all that plastic and the boot around it, compared to how it looks in the above picture. Haven't driven it hard at all yet, but even under normal driving it's just so comfortable and effortless.

So, I took out my door panels to cut out the speaker baskets. Then I got really bored after finishing the first one and took this red vinyl i've had forever and tucked it into the doors. Made a few mistakes, but i'm not too sure if i'll keep it very long. I didn't use any glue or adhesive, so I just have to pull it out if I want it off. If I do opt to keep it, i'm going to buy some more and redo it all so it looks better. I'm definitely going to do my headliner black sometime though. That grey is just so out of place.

Re: :::AwptiK::: 2001 SH

we like updates of any kind. don't worry about how snazzy your car is. We just like seeing owners making progress on their own. the short shifter is amazing man and the door panels look great.
good luck with school man, much more important than a car.

The car is coming along fine. You can only do what you can, and as was already said above school is more important then almost everything else. Take your time, car's not going anywhere.

Re: :::AwptiK::: 2001 SH

Hey guys, it's been a long while.

My girl and I broke up about 2 weeks ago now. After 9-some months. I could go on and on about this, but it's for the best. Shouldn't have dated as long as we did (she was crazy, obsessive, controlling), but I just felt the need for some companionship. She's already moved on. Oh well, I have a wonderful night planned with an old fling when she's back in town in two weeks :D

On to the lude, she's about to get pampered. I love spare cash

I've got some issues to work out first:

1) Fogs stopped working. It's not the bulbs, it's not a fuse. Wiring all seems to be connected properly. Totally stumped on this one.

2) No power to driver's door. The ONLY things that work on the door are the courteousy light and the passenger window lock. The lock itself doesn't work, neither do either window controls or the mirror adjuster. The passenger side is perfectly fine. Pulled the door panel a few times and haven't seen any loose wires or anything :/

3) I had something else to go here, but I just blanked :(
Edit: Winged fkn door handles. Ugh. Spring broke a few days ago on the driver's door and then two days later on the passenger door.

Huge plans to be knocked out by the end of summer. I don't mean a turbo or a build, haha. Huge in the sense of a college student :)

Updated pics when she gets washed on Tuesday, with the RSX-S my friend just picked up. [He went from a s2k to a 350z to that] Yay Honda.

Let me just add, since I love writing books.. My car has feelings. It's crazy sometimes. She was really sluggish around the time of the breakup, but as soon as she heard about all my extra money, she has been really cheery ever since. ;)

Re: :::AwptiK::: 2001 SH

Quick update, fixed issue #2. Found out there is a bad ground, somewhere..........., so after looking at some of the Helm's wiring diagrams, I made my own ground and connected the lock/windows/mirror switch to it and now everything works perfectly.

I'm thinking that this may have to do with #1 (fog issue) too. I have yet to look at that though.

Makes me want to do the BIG 3, just to be on the safe side. So i'll probably tackle this sometime this weekend.

Re: :::AwptiK::: 2001 SH

Yeah western, I actually bought springs... then I decided I'd rather hold out until I could afford coilovers. So I turned around and sold them recently. I actually wanted a white lude more than any other color, but all I had for options when I bought this was black and a bunch of green ones. eww. No doubt, I love my black lude so so much, but I still get antsy when I see some other member's white cars. Trade?! :D

haha thanks greenmachine, i'd love to look like mad max.

To update, been cleaning my car up a lot lately, whenever i'm not at work... I'll add some new pics tomorrow with the Lamin-x'd fogs and the window visors.

Re: :::AwptiK::: 2001 SH

yeah, haha I would. Esp since yours is a 5speed Nah, but Crystal's my baby. Whether or not she's a 5spd, I still love her. AT, MT...doesn't matter, A prelude is a prelude. She'll be a 5speed one of these days. It may not be soon, but it shall be. If you get antsy, then don't look at akaprepreludesh's lude. I've never seen a white 5th gen that I liked better. haha. Im eventually gunna get flat black rims, possibly lowering springs myself, and maybe HID's. So anyway, again, keep up the updates.

Re: :::AwptiK::: 2001 SH

Just wanted to share some updated pictures. It's been one whole year and a week, (and 16000 miles) since I picked this car up last year.

First, my RedlineGoods red-stitched armrest cover. Looks and feels amazing. It's just a battle to get on the first time.

Next, my RG red-stitched shift boot. Also my gunmetal Blox shift knob. Awesome knob and the color is so perfect!

Finally, the car itself.

Anyone who's seen some of the earlier pics of my interior, see anything different? She's CLEAN! I might be a little too into keeping her clean now, but it's definitely worth the effort.

Very nice, Brother-man. Im loving the red black stitched armrest. and, the shift knob. And, the stitched boot. Its little touches like these that make the prelude look like a modern sports car....when in fact yours is 10 years old! Awesome dude. Where did find these people? Now that I see yours, I kinda want one

I think you're asking about where I got the boot/armrest? And/or the knob. hahaha

Well I got my boot/armrest from here: Redline Goods
(Click the (97-01) under Prelude)

And my knob I picked up off of eBay.

Remembering that you're in an auto, I suppose you're most interested in the armrest cover though.

Re: :::AwptiK::: 2001 SH

Hey now...none of that. I tell the car when to shift. I never let it do it. I know, its not a stick, but right now its the closest I've got. ANYWAY, yes I was most interested in the armrest. Im thinking about doing that swap thing that makes it look like manual, so no one can tell and give me crap for it So I'll be looking into the shift boot. AAND i just realized I forgot to say YOU in my previous response haha. Anyway, well its looking great. And I notice the carpet is not as faded as mine. Are those new or just very well taken care of?

Re: :::AwptiK::: 2001 SH

I bought the floormatts new for my first Prelude, back in like jan 2009. As soon as I bought this one, I was like "oh, no floormatts" and transferred them over before listing that Prelude for sale. The rest of the carpet is also in great shape though.

Re: :::AwptiK::: 2001 SH

Im trying to figure out what to do with mine. The blacks don't exactly match, so what would be ideal is to find some new carpets that said Prelude on them that were preferably the original color...But I doubt I'll find those. Do you have any other suggestions
