%100 bone stock :o 3/27/09

updated:4/04/09

so i had my wheel and quick release from my 5th gen still and decided to put it on my 4th gen along with an JDM CTR shift boot. way better then the stock wheel and boot by far. also a good sercurity feature since in live in the i.e lol

i also got some JDM sidemarkers and EDM rearfog light in the mail today from S-LudeDan, need to find some time to install these bad boys

Re: :::n0rmaL::: 1992 prelude

update 6/18/09

heres some updated pictures of the center console switches. im running my foglights without a relay, just a wire from the foglights to the switch, a 12v power source( i used my cig lighter for both foglights front and rear). and then ground off the switch, i have the pin layout for the jdm foglight switch if anybody needs it just ask. the half antenna switch is there for show right now lol i'll probably end up selling it or something cus i want to get another jdm foglight switch for the DRL mod i'm planning on doing. yes i know 3 foglight switches wtf huh?!?!? lol and of course the jdm dimmer switch and acura cl sunroof switch to make room for the jdm dash pocket

oh damn i just realized that my gf can operate the moonroof, adjust the dimmer and turn off my foglights for me :o how sexy is that!

Re: :::n0rmaL::: 1992 prelude

yes i almost have everything i need to swap the H22 from my old 5th gen into my new 4th gen.

thanks to craigslist i have the p13 i need. I paid $40 for it. thanks to allmotorjunkie for that find, and gotjnco for testing it out.

i also got a 4th gen vtec header since the 5th gen header wouldnt fit the 4th gen chassis or so i've read online. its a neuspeed N2 header with a carb no. i got it for $60 bucks, again of craigslist. it was painted all black but i stripped the top half to its orginal cermaic coating. not bad for 60 bucks if i say so myself

i still need some obd1 H22 injectors, since the h23 injectors are alot smaller. then i just need my fluids and i'll be all set. besides that i can reuse all the h23 stuff like the dizzy, harness and fuel rail.

miguel is letting me borrow his cherry picker and allmotorjunkie(jesse) is gonna help me do the swap or pretty much do my swap while i hand him tools and beers lol j/k

i was gonna start on it next weekend but i forgot about the autobac meet so i'll probably start the weekend after if everything works out.

wish me luck guys, its gonna be my 1st engine swap [-o<

and because everybody loves pictures

Re: :::n0rmaL::: 1992 prelude

well i started up the h22 today after about 3 months of sitting, started like a champ . then i put it on the best place available to me for the swap lol. put it on jacks and took off the wheels.

i pretty much have everything i need as far as tools and parts but the main thing i need is a cherry picker or engine hoist. i have a friend who will let me borrow one but i need to find a way to pick it up from his place. so as soon as i get my hands on that cherry picker the swap will begin

the donor car is my old car that i totalled back in nov 08' and i have owned that car 5 years on june 22nd. it had 72,XXX miles the day i picked it up and as of today it has a little over 120,XXX miles. i did the timing belt about 50,xxx ago so im gonna wait a little bit longer before i replace it, since funds are kinds low right now. i havent driven the 5th gen since the day i got my 4th gen so it will be nice to have vtec back agian, thats for sure

my sick JDM 5th gen

bye bye H23

hello H22

sexy car pix for the hell of it :o

Re: :::n0rmaL::: 1992 prelude

allmotorjunkie and i preped the h22 to be pulled out, unhooked all the hoses and plugs, drained the fluids and removed the axels. all in all it went pretty smooth until we got the the passenger ball joint which would not come off for ****, we ended up breaking the axel to take it off, oh well it was ****ty anyways. then come to find out the last person to change my oil striped the **** outta my oil drian bolt so we had to remove the oil pan and used a 5 ft breaker bar to pry it off, but it came off and i put the oil pan back on.

all the mounts are loose and the motor is ready to be pulled out, just need the time now, hopefully next weekend if all goes well

heres so pix i took after i cleaned up, didnt have any batteries until an hour ago sorry guys.

Re: :::n0rmaL::: 1992 prelude

i got the timing belt kit and obd1 h22 injectors in finally, for the manual tensioner coversion im going to reuse parts of my h23 and h22.

i'll probably take those busted up 5th gen axels to autozone for a core exchange on some fresh 4th gen axels, might as well it get done since the axels are coming out anyways.

i pretty much have everything i need todo it including the tools and enigine hoist, nows its a matter of time. i work m-f so i cant do it during the week. this weekend i have too many things going on and next weekend is the 4th. so it will start the weekend after july 4th. man i wish i could just get it in there already hahaha

damn all i can say is thanks to jesse(allmotorjunkie),Lil.Cease and his lil brother, and alan!!

in one day we managed to pull the h23 outta the 4th gen, pull the h22 outta the 5th gen. do the H22 Auto Tensioner to H23 Manual Tensioner Conversion, and do the timing belt and water pump. then drop the h22 into the 4th gen, and it started on the first try :shock:

dont have all the pictures yet but heres some pictures before it got dark.

started at 7am ended at 10pm

i hooked up the vtec solenoid and vtec pressure switch today, and figured since i was running wires i should relocate the battery too. i also mounted the coil on my engine mount since it was just dangling there

i also changed the plugs and wires today too

I love the progress you've done, AWESOME PROGRESS THREAD!! Oh and I'm soooo happy you changed your wheels, when I saw you put those first ones on I really wasn't feeling it, but those new ones you got are premo!! Very nice work, everything is so clean and I love your 4th gen VTEC parts you put on yours. Very well done my friend.
