:::zayres29:::1998 Base

This is my 1998 Prelude Base running strong with 375xxx miles my new project stay tuned for update to see what happens to it

all the rust i could find on the car

currently the car is bone stock but i plan to do a full sound system and im in the process of getting all the parts together for a 5 speed swap just need to find a tranny, pedals, intermediate shaft, and reverse switch i have everything else

this is part of the sound system that is going it

box specs

turns out the trunk leaks... there is a spot of rust where the spoiler attaches and water seeps in i filled it with expanding foam hopefully that will stop/slow it down till i can get a new hatch

after cleaning up some of the rust

i tinted my quarter windows eventually there will be 5% all aroudn and 35-20% on the windshield

cleaned some more now i have to get all the dust out for sound deadener

ps how do i get that rubber mat thing out?

most of the trunk covered in sound deadener still need to vacuum the dust out of the bottom to finish it off

2 layers here

Re: My New Project

To get that rubber out (OEM Sound Deadening) You need a heat gun (or a baller hair dryer lol) and a scraper, it'll take about 2 hours and be a total pain in the ass, but this is the only way I know of to get it off :/

in that case i might just clean it off really good and lay my deadening over it

Holy **** 375k on a 98? Thats over triple mine lol. If you really have 375k how is that auto tranny still going? If anything I would buy a JDM H22 and do a auto>-5speed swap as well.

the auto tranny is still going but its slipping and shifts very harshly i use the ss and it makes it a little better but im in the process of gathering all the parts necessary for the 5 speed swap how much does a jdm h22 go for

Re: :::zayres29:::1998 Base

in that case i would recommend purchasing a new motor instead of rebuilding your current one. hmotorsonline.com is the most highly reputable site that i know of to get stuff. you can also get the 5spd transmission from them to do your swap.
