:::havikprelude::: 2001 Prelude SH

For awhile I've been debating on whether or not to do a member's ride thread, as my car isn't much to look at; but I guess one of the points to doing one is to show the progression of the car, and my car is certainly a work in progress. So here goes.

2001 Prelude SH

Engine
USDM H22A4
Painted valve cover
NGK spark plugs
WeaponR Dragon SRI
eBStores Test pipe w/ o2 spacer mod
Header (brand unknown)

Exterior
Aftermarket rear badge
Painted stock front badge
Circular fog lights

Interior
Carbon fiber center dash piece/radio housing
WeaponR dash plaque
Sparco pedals

Suspension
Stock suspension
17" Hankook HRII's all around
Roto Slipstream rims

I.C.E.
Stock

Misc.
None yet
New PCV valve
New dizzy cap/rotor
New spark plug wires
New fuel filter
New knock sensor

Future Mods
New front bumper
New headlights
Custom 2.5" catback
Lowering coilovers (1.5-2")
Light window tint
Accent engine bay/paint calipers
Lip kit
Side skirts
New rims
AEM CAI
Lightweight flywheel
New clutch
Kaizenspeed balance shaft eliminator kit
H22A or H22A Type S swap
N/A or Turbo build
Paint

Will update with more pictures once I get my car back from the shop and I give it a good cleaning, I'll also post engine bay/interior pics. (New pics coming soon!)

Will keep this updated as I start fixing stuff and adding stuff

Re: :::havikprelude::: 2001 Prelude SH

Thanks guys

Right now I'm in college so I really don't have the money or time to do much to it, but I'm def gonna get the oil leak figured out and fixed, my bent radius rod fixed and get an alignment, I'm also putting in a new fuel filter, dizzy cap/rotor, sparl plug wires, and FPR. I should also be getting my catback really soon.

Once I get out of school is when the real work is gonna begin.

Re: :::havikprelude::: 2001 Prelude SH

Well they may be Roto's, they may not be. One person told me they were Roto Slips, another said they were only replicas. I haven't gotten around to investigating it yet, my internet is so slow I can't see picture and graphic intensive sites, which is pretty much any parts stores website.

So I have to get on a faster connection, then actually remember to look it up while I'm there lol.

Re: :::havikprelude::: 2001 Prelude SH

I just googled it and unless all the pics of Roto Slips I saw on google were also replica's, then the ones on my car are actual Roto Slipstreams. Chances are my friend told me they were replicas because he wanted to buy them off me for cheaper, he did want to buy them...

One more reason why I don't talk to him anymore.

Re: :::havikprelude::: 2001 Prelude SH

since i first saw Irishluder`s Type S, i feel in love with the Roto SLipstreams. i really love 5 spoke rims and they are up my alley. but as far as i know, Roto Slips are a replica of one of Spoon`s rims. im not sure if someone made a replica of Roto. only downside is that Roto are made cheaper and break easier if you race with them. i could be wrong.

Dude same here, ever since IrishLuder's type S I have LOVED the rota slips.

Anyways, Havik, why do you want a new front bumper? I don't see anything some new paint can't fix...unless you're doin some sneaky photography lol.

jk man, shes lookin good, keep it up and she'll eventually be to the point where you're just finding nit picky things to change, or trying out different looks for sh!ts and giggles. I look forward to new pics man.

EDIT: nvm bout the front bumper...I think I see why now

Re: :::havikprelude::: 2001 Prelude SH

Yea....the bumper bolts are all missing, the bumper bolts holes are torn apart, the bottom of it is all torn up, it doesn't sit where its supposed to, annnd the driver's side bottom corner of it is cracked, and right around the crack looks like its been mauled by a rather fearsome dog.

So yup, definitely getting a new bumper lol.

Re: :::havikprelude::: 2001 Prelude SH

Well, I basically pissed away the money I was going to use for my car. Honestly I don't know how. Well, $800 went to the car, but it needs so much more. The rest I guess went to food, rent and cigs.

Its always the small stuff which adds up...

Anyway...here's a small list of things I gotta fix, within the next couple months.

Vacuum leak. The hose for the IAB unit is unplugged, which wouldn't be too bad but the plastic tube on the IAB unit that the vacuum hose fits on is broken off inside the hose. I won't get into it, but my mechanic musta broke it while he was under there. So now I gotta deal with that BS.

Second vacuum leak. The 90 degree elbow connector for the power brake booster vacuum hose where it plugs into the intake manifold may be leaking.

Valve clearance adjustment. Have a slight valve tap. Pretty much started after the vacuum leak so it may go away when that is fixed, but it needs to be done anyway.

Refill engine coolant/trans oil. Dunno when they were last done, might as well.

Replace clutch/flywheel. My clutch is just barely starting to slip, and my flywheel is prolly all messed up. Chill spots and cracking and such. Flywheel might actually be ok...but I have my eye on an 8lb Fidanza...

Ball Joints. Yup. My strut rod is fine. Just got some shot BJ's in the front, so I gotta replace them and get an alignment soon.

And I have no money for any of this. Time to go beg for a job.

Re: :::havikprelude::: 2001 Prelude SH

Well, its been awhile and while I still haven't made any major improvements, I still got some stuff done.

Valve cover has been painted, fixed my IAB vacuum leak and the oil leak has been fixed.

Going to be buying a new clutch/flywheel hopefully in a week, and I'm taking manual transmission and transaxles at school next session, so I may replace it in class. I'll also be ordering all new IM gaskets to finally fix my vacuum leaks. Prolly do the timing belt with a manual tensioner shortly thereafter, as well as my ball joints and an alignment.
