:::EBPludeSH::: 2001 Type SH
Hi Everybody,
I own a 2001 EBP Prelude SH which I purchased in late 2004. I have always been a big fan of clean "OEM+" preludes, so I have modified my car over the years from inspiration of some of the preludes I have seen posted here, PO and PP. Here is a quick spec list of my prelude as it currently sits: Engine: JDM Blue SiR Valve Cover JDM Type S Intake K&N Air Filter Mugen Oil Cap Interior/Audio: S2000 Seats Rear Leather Seats Honda OEM trunk mat Honda Simulated Carbon Fiber Trim Kit Skunk2 Weighted Shift Knob Kenwood XXV-01D 25th Anniversary CD player Pioneer 6.5" Rev Component Set Image Dynamics 12" IDMax Subwoofer MTX Black Gold 2300x Amplifier Exterior: OEM Optional Front Lip OEM Optional Side Skirts Genuine Mugen Rear Splats JDM Honda Type S Front Lip TSX Retrofitted Depo Headlights Hella Gen3 Ballasts Genuine JDM Fogs w/ Yellow Capsule Retrofit ATTS Front Grill Emblem Suspension/Wheels/Tires: Koni Yellow OTS Shocks Ground Control Coilovers w/ Marcucci Custom Perch Eliminators Advan Kreuzer V 18"x7.5" Wheels Hankook Ventus V12 Tires - 215/40/18 McGard Black Spline Drive Lug Nuts 05-06 RSX Type S Wheels 17x7 Here how the car looked when I first purchased it. It had around 35k miles. ![]() One of the first modifications that I did to the vehicle was to purchase JDM foglights and a Type S lip. ![]() I decided next it was time to start upgrading the suspension.. so I opted to upgrade to Koni Yellow Shocks with the Ground Control Coilovers. During the same year.. I was lucky enough to purchase some E46 Bixenon retrofitted headlights from a local prelude owner who was parting out his vehicle.

Re: :::EBPludeSH::: 2001 Type SH
Continuing on.. I was fortunate enough to find some mint 05-06 RSX Type S Wheels on my local craigslist.
![]() ![]() ![]() To upgrade the interior.. I added S2000 Seats with rear leather seats. I also added the simulated carbon fiber interior dress up kit. ![]() ![]()

Re: :::EBPludeSH::: 2001 Type SH
Almost forgot.. before I picked up the RSX wheels.. I purchased the Type S intake and also a JDM Blue SiR Valve Cover.
![]() ![]() Here is how the car looked like a year and half ago. I added the ATTS emblem to the front grill during that time. ![]() ![]()

Re: :::EBPludeSH::: 2001 Type SH
I was pretty satisfied with the E46 Bixenon retros.. but I was looking for something with a sharper and wider cutoff. My answer was to have a set of TSX projectors retrofitted into new DEPO black housing headlights.

Re: :::EBPludeSH::: 2001 Type SH
And here is how the car currently sits:
I love the look of the Type S lip and SH sides, but I decided to change the exterior look a little. My goal was to go with the OEM front lip/Mugen Sides/Mugen Rear, but it's nearly impossible to find a set of genuine mugen sides(still on the hunt for some). I had a set of Mugen replica sides that I was going to use, but I had no desire to drill into the body of my car to mount them. I wanted a bolt on solution, so I went with the OEM optional sides. I was lucky enough to source some genuine Mugen rears to complete the look. I've always been a big fan of 5 star wheels on the prelude and was very happy with my RSX-S rims. But my all time favorite wheels had to be the Advan Kreuzer V's. They are nearly impossible to find, but I was fortunate enough to find a brand new set in silver. Size: 18"x 7.5" wide. I had the wheels mounted on the Hankook Ventus V12 215-40-18 tires. Other than that, one minor modification I decided to do was to retrofit my fogs with yellow capsules. Let me know what you think. Onto the pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: :::EBPludeSH::: 2001 Type SH
The interior is really nice, especially the seats. I would have stuck with the Type S front lip, definitely liked the uniqueness of the Type S lip. I really like the yellow fogs too. Did you have to do anything with the mounting brackets to get the RSX seats to fit? Nice EBP bro!!

Yup..the Type S lip is my favorite front lip for the prelude. But I needed to go with the OEM kit/Mugen rear in order to make the 18's flow better with the car. The advans would have looked way too big with the Type S lip/SH sides etc. Definitely keeping the Type S lip though.. when I wish to alternate looks with the RSX wheels. The S2000 seats were mounted on prelude bottom and rails. I believe there are a couple write-ups on PP.com Quote:

Thanks.. the way the S2000 seats hold in you place when taking a corner is amazing. It was one of the best upgrades I did.Thanks man. Will be posting more pictures in a few. Last edited by EBPludeSH; 02-09-2010 at 08:37 PM. |

Re: :::EBPludeSH::: 2001 Type SH
Thanks man. A big fan of your MZ3X's. I had a set that I would have mounted on the prelude..but they were the wrong width.
Thanks man. Took a long time to find myself an EBP when I was looking to purchase a prelude. Quote:
I try to keep it as clean as possible.. its almost an obsession. ![]() Some more pictures I have stored away. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: :::EBPludeSH::: 2001 Type SH
On the last exterior detail I did.. I used Meguiar Products. Specifically their M205 Polish then waxed with Meguiars M16 (old school carnauba wax from Megs known for clarity and durability).
You can see more pictures of the process I used in the exterior forum: Exterior Correction with Meguiars Quote:
Thanks man. It has been slow progress overall.. but expect a few more subtle additions in the future. |

Re: :::EBPludeSH::: 2001 Type SH
Did you swap the seat pans and lever?

I believe the previous owner of the seats did have the seat pans swapped out. The entire bottom half and levers are like my old fabric seats. |
