Re: :::EBPludeSH::: 2001 Type SH

This thing is my new favourite car on the site. The Advans and the Mugen spoiler finish it off perfectly. And EBP is by far the best colour they were offered with.

Earlier I thought that the highlight of my day was driving next to a F430 with my windows down, but I think you've surpassed that.

Wow, thanks for the very nice comments Brash.

I finally had a chance to take some decent pictures over the weekend.

Enjoy.

Re: :::EBPludeSH::: 2001 Type SH

Well I decided to experiment with my old Type S lip.

Usually the Type S lips look best with SH sides and rear lips and is considered too small to flow with OEM/Mugen sides etc.

I decided to try it out with the OEM sides anyway.

I inverted the mounting clips so the lip would sit about a 1/2 inch lower on the front bumper.

Here is how it looks when the clips are not inverted; you can see that the top edge of the lip matches up closer with the bottom black grill.

This is how it looks when the clips are inverted. It's barely noticeable, but you can see the top edge does sit slightly lower.

And here is out it looks with the OEM sides/Mugen Rear.

What do you think? Yay or Nay?

nay. i mean, the type S lip looks really good but i think the OEM lip looks better with the OEM sides skirts best. not that it doesn't look good now, i just think the oem lip matches better with the rest of the car. just my .02. lude looks good!!

Have to agree as well after the experiment. Thanks for feedback.

Some more updates:

Got some crazy deals on some rare items recently.

Also picked up a new steering wheel and retrofitted the S2000 CC switches.

A couple of interior shots:

With the new grill mounted (experimenting a little with HDR).

Re: :::EBPludeSH::: 2001 Type SH

I like the type S lip in it's rarity, but with OEM or whatever sides and rear it doesn't seem to flow like you've said. For your new parts: I actually like the OEM steering wheel best,the S2K one is alright, but the door sills and new front grille are really nice! Nice work, I'd love to get my hands on the door sills

Thanks man. I love the door sills and am super lucky to snatch them up on ebay for a killer deal. They really upscale the interior big time.

I really appreciate that ROCK. Good luck with your lude, just take it slow like I have and it will start coming together.

Some recent goodies arrived.

Spoon Convex Lens mounted on DC2 RVM.

And a quick test fit of the headlight protector. Headlights need to be adjusted to fit the clips underneath.

The lens has a slight curve towards the center. Benefits are a slightly wider viewing angle. More coverage side to side by the c-pillar to minimize blind spots.

Yeah. the headlight protectors will have to grow on me as well. They are unique looking though. :)

Re: :::EBPludeSH::: 2001 Type SH

Well I decided I wanted to purchase a full coilover suspension setup to replace my current Koni/GC setup. My Koni's served me well, but I wanted a little more ride height adjustability without sacrificing suspension travel.

I was considering several options at first including:

-shortening and revalving current Koni's
-JIC Magic TAR coilovers
-F2 Type 2 coilovers

All solutions above are fairly decent setups but upon researching I came across the BC racing coilovers. At first I was skeptical and had never even heard of BC, but upon further research I had found a huge thread on nasioc with plenty of positive feedback from impreza owners.

I bit the bullet and ordered myself the BC racing BR coilover setup. By default the spring rates they sell are 12k/6k, but instead I custom ordered a more neutral 8k/6k setup.

The coilovers arrived after around a 2 week turnaround and upon unpacking I was immediately impressed with the overall build quality. The top pillowball mounts, monotube shock bodies and hardware all seem high quality.

I installed them on the weekend and here are some quick first impressions:

-Ride quality is night and day compared to my old Koni/GC setup
-Excellent damping, more controlled and just swallows up bumps in the road with ease(smooth ride)
-Can actually feel the difference in damping with each click (30 way)
-Started off with 14 clicks from soft up front and 12 clicks from soft in the rear and the ride was very smooth (almost luxurious but controlled)
-Increased front to 16 clicks and could feel it become stiffer(pretty close to my old Koni's at full stiff)

Overall I have to say I'm pretty impressed so far with the ride quality and the adjustability (height & damping) of the BC BR setup. They are a good alternative for anybody in the market for a new suspension.

Onto some pictures:

Also installed an ST rear sway bar. Pretty satisfied with that upgrade as well.

I'm pretty convinced you must never drive your car, because I have no freaking clue how you keep it so damn clean! By the way, I appreciate the info about the coilovers as I've been looking around for some myself. I was thinking F&F type 2. I would look into getting BC coilovers but they don't make them for my car ('89) . But anyways man, your car is gorgeous as always and I love the new setup. Keep it classy mate!

I would look into getting BC coilovers but they don't make them for my car ('89) . But anyways man, your car is gorgeous as always and I love the new setup. Keep it classy mate!
Thanks alot PunkBuster. Unfortunately the lude is my current daily driver. I'll be using my E30 for daily driving duties pretty soon though.

That car is amazing. tastefully done. How hard was it to get the s2000 seats in? did you need new rails with it or do they just bolt right up?
