Re: :::EBPludeSH::: 2001 Type SH

I must admit, your pics are the first I've saved off this site in a loooong time. What you've done is fantastic, yet most of it is so subtle that a non-Honda person wouldn't ever pick it as not being factory fitted. Much respect for that.

You also make me look incredibly slack. By most people's standards, I'm an extremely fastidious bastard, but the amount of attention and effor you put in when detailing your ride is just incredible. How do you keep the engine bay so clean?

Wow...I appreciate that. When I first cleaned my engine bay..I used a general APC (all purpose cleaner) like simple green/purple power. I used misc. small brushes to scrub the engine bay and then rinsed it off clean with high pressure water. For dressing the engine bay.. I use CD2 Engine detailer.

It works great and leaves a great shine on the hoses..etc.

Here is a very good writeup worth checking out:

Re: :::EBPludeSH::: 2001 Type SH

Well I have to say when you first posted this thread I could not even bring myself to say anything because of how gorgeous it is. Honestly, I tried to get my fingers to type compliments to your ride but I simply couldn't... Anyways, I wanted you to know that I am extremely inspired by your car and attention to detail. I too am pretty particular when it comes to cleaning (e.g. I used Q-tips to clean the inside of my bell housing...) I definitely have a long way to go to get anywhere near where you are since the previous owner left me with a lot to correct.

Please keep us updated with anything and everything you do!

Absolutely an immaculate 'Lude (I think the word "clean" just sounds dirty in this context). Keep her pristine!

Re: :::EBPludeSH::: 2001 Type SH

It's been awhile, but here are a few updates.

Replaced the front studs with 97 Acura TL rear studs. Allows me to use my present close ended lug nuts as well.

And the reason for the studs...BBK. Will need to space out my Advans.

Adding this as well:

Painted:

Will post updated pictures later once the advans are mounted on the car again. Temporarily using my RSX-S wheels.

Hey man....I love it...that is absolutely immaculate. Definitely the best looking blue 5g I've ever seen. First 2 questions about the seats: Are they that much more comfy and supportive than the Prelude seats? and where did you get them(I found some on ebay...but as a pair they were almost 1K....is that around how much you paid?)

Thanks, I appreciate the comments.

The S2k seats are great and they are comfortable for daily driving and are on par with the prelude seats. The support is incredible though and they are on a different level compared to the stock seats. For me, it made a huge difference in providing an almost go kart sensation when cornering.

I purchased mine used for around $700 a couple of years ago. I would guess they still average between 600-1000 depending on condition.

Re: :::EBPludeSH::: 2001 Type SH

A few more updates.

Received my custom spacers from Motorsport Tech. The great thing about these spacers is they are hubcentric and wheel centric with the custom machined lip.

The Advan wheels clear the brembo calipers perfectly now.

In order to run the spacers on all four corners, I had to also replace the rear studs with the Dorman '97 Acura TL studs.

Installed:

Spacers Mounted and Advans back on:

Not hard at all for the rear. The fronts are a different story. I recommend you check out dudeitshonda's write up on PP.com for the front studs.

To match the front brakes, I decided to change the rotors on the rear and paint the dust shield and calipers.

With spacers:

With wheels mounted:

Mugen on:

Thanks for looking.

Thanks man. I try to keep with the simple and clean look.

Here are a few more pictures I took very quickly during the weekend. I'm not very satisfied with the pictures since it was really bright outside; but here they are anyway.

Found it on ebay and snatched it up as soon as I saw it. Don't see them for sale very often with complete hardware.

Lovin' the BBK!! I don't feel so lonely now lol, how much did you pay for the spacers? Also did you get the longer studs to be safer running the spacers? I am looking for some spacers to replace the 2 washers I have on each stud lol.

Re: :::EBPludeSH::: 2001 Type SH

Wheels look kind of big on the lude, but I love the classic 5 spoke style. The new brakes are looking really nice. Great work on the EBP!

Thanks Viper. The spacers were custom made for about $120/ a pair. There is about a 2 week turnaround once ordered.

Yes sir, longer studs to accommodate the spacers. Needed a minimum of 6.5 turns for safety; so both front and rear studs were replaced.

Thanks man. I've always been a fan of classic 5 spoke rims.
I'm very satisfied with the brembos, but not so much with the brake dust.
