Re: PUFFS 4TH GEN PRELUDE REFURBISH

I'm going to be honest with you bro... your last post I attempted to read and I gave up. Well, at least for the time being. I got a bit of a headache trying to decipher when thoughts and sentences started and ended, and after awhile the words all started running together so I stopped. I will try again later.

Re: PUFFS 4TH GEN PRELUDE REFURBISH

Thanks guys i really appreciate the love! i hope i can get a bigger crowd on this thread id post more pics up if that was the case and keep it up-dated daily or every other day. right now im in the process of a very mild wire tuck, lol not enough to get all hyped up about but just enough so when i pop my own hood im semi-satisfied... (big mike your on a whole different level when the word "tuck" is in the equation lol)

but thanks guys i truly appreciate it. checkin my email and actually seeing some one replied means alot and appreciate the kind words and any comment in general. right now im debating on a paint job, or boost; gotta decide which comes first! and "need2speed" when you find your self just scrambling through pages of prelude forums, and realizing what exact path you wanna take for your prelude, youll have the mental image of that dream prelude in your head, and it'll never leave your head till your car is to satisfactory! it all starts off with naming your car... lol jk, but my preludes name is lulu ;)! (lol random but just thought id through that out there). but just do your home work man and soon that dream will be reality! and trust me its well worth it bro. youll find yourself spending so much money on your car but you know every penny was a penny well spent!

i really hope you guys keep posted up on this thread! i would take more shots but dont like displaying the silver and black combo to much :/ but thanks for all the kind words guys i truly appreciate them! ill take pics of all my progress now bc i only show yall the after it seems like lol. ill have to get some progress shots asap!!

and sorry about the grammer problems big mike ill proof read my posts lol i notice when i get in thought i just write what pops immeditley in my head lol!

Re: PUFFS 4TH GEN PRELUDE REFURBISH

I was just messing with you bro!

You have a great mindset and with that outlook you have a ton of potential not just with your Prelude, but with all things in life bro. Develop an image of what you want to accomplish, and go from there. Good luck!

hahah i know you were just messin man!;) but dude ill be the first to admit my grammer and punctuation usage is absolutly horriable! lol but ill work on it for everyone on here + just to help me in general lol... but dang man i really appreciate the kind words, they mean alot esp. coming from an enthusiast like your self man! of coarse the image in my head has probably changed over 500 times but none the less hope it meets that lil dream lude i once imagined when i started my lude on that very first day!

heres some pics of my jdm bb4 h22a vin tag i got for a great deal, along with my nextec hood dampers and they do great! beat the heck outta the stock one! esp since mine was wrecked mine was kinda bent and wobbly =/ but all is gone now :)! Also finally got my jdm amber turn signals straight from tokyo arrived in prestine condition not even one scratch i was personally amazed with how much beeter they looked then the pictures the dude sent me! and a couple of other random shots of ol' LULU

Re: PUFFS 4TH GEN PRELUDE REFURBISH

Heres the prelude i was looking at over the summer last year, and the reason for having for sale signs on my lude. this prelude by far was the absoulute most clean prelude ive ever seen! everything was done so maturely, and no corners were cut! unfortunatly the dude who did all this work sold it to this one guy, and this guy drove it for about 2k miles and quoted.. "im not feeling the h series i want a civic...".

well he ended up putting it for sale. i immediatley hopped on it i put my lude for sale and the day b4 i was bout to sell my prelude.... he gets in a front collision! (messing up to my understanding the bumper, lip, vents, and hood) my heart went racing i couldnt believe it! and the worst part about it is the car was for 7000$ and after the wreck he wanted 6500$. so i said "nah i cant be buyin that... i already have a wrecked car!"

so needless to say the quote "built not bought" popped in my head, and i realized i need a project of my own this project is mine so i ended up keepin ol lulu! All in all this car as it was before it was wrecked, is truly my inspiration. From jealousy of wanting it so bad to Inspiration, this car i feel is by far one of the cleaner 4th gens out there. but my goal for my prelude is'nt to be the best looking, the fastest, or the most eye catcher . but to get my prelude just as good looking as this prelude. and so far im no where near close if yall want more pics i have a couple more but ive seen it in person and it looks just as good as the pics but this truly is my inspiration...

Re: PUFFS 4TH GEN PRELUDE REFURBISH

Just an update guys not a whole lot done due to the last shop that had my axles put in tqd one of my lugs to 120ft lbs and when i tried rotating my tires i snapped the wheel stud right off! so without messing with it myself took it to a trusted shop my dad knows, and got it fixed and during assembly told me my wheel bearings needed to be replaced well just the front left so i said fvck it and got both front wheel bearings replaced with it. all in all im glad i got the wheel bearings re-done gives me that "safe of mind" for sure. also dude to completley killing on of my lugz i just ended up buying a pair of blox lugs with x20 set just in case if something like this decides to happen again :x!! but also finally got my spoon strut bar in and omg i love it! i noticed a good difference after install even after havin my ebay bar on lol my ebay strut bar was good but geez this just laughed in its place!! now just on the search for the rear one to keep it matching! but hope yall like the pics!

Re: PUFFS 4TH GEN PRELUDE REFURBISH

coming along nicely man. you have made incredible progress from when you got it. my prelude had very similar damage a few years ago.

its funny you were looking into buying that red prelude. my brother had cash and was ready to buy it too. the guy that wrecked the car actually bought it off the original owner for $5000... not the $7000 that he had listed. which is a real shame because the car is worth far more then that. my brother is now slowly working on his prelude when he has time.

i saw that in you original post you said that you were wanting tenzo r racing seats, 50/50 taillights etc.. but it seems like your attitude to ebay/knockoff parts has changed a lot. glad to hear it.
keep up the good work man

thanks zac coming from a guy with a RHD k24 bb4 is truly an honor man thanks for even taking your time to read my thread and looking at the pictures! my attitude by far has changed ever since i couldnt get the red 4ws lude, nd i remember seeing you actually intrested on the red lude on hondaswap or honda tech? forgot which one, but i was like damm he woulda had 2 of the best 4th gens around lol, but thanks for the nice words man as of now im fixing all the problems with the car, which there are plenty i can spot that annoy the crap outta me! but fixing them then progressing. but yea man excluding the tenzo r's im looking into recaro itr's the black red stitch edition. now maybe later on after paint and boost but im kinda leaning on towards waiting to get the paint until the spring due to the cold winter. :( you living in florida im sure you dont have this as an issue haha but all in all with time and patience she should all be done by east coast honda meet.... hopefully!! and thanks again zac i really appreciate it!

Re: PUFFS 4TH GEN PRELUDE REFURBISH

not a problem at all man. just glad to see another prelude being done right. keep it up. i think you will be much happier with those recaros too. just as long as you buy legit parts and dont cut any corners you are on the right path lol
last year we had one of our coldest/longest winters to date. i watched snow flurries outside of my jobs window. but for the most part we dont really have to worry about anything but the humidity when it comes to painting.
once my lude is done i will be making it out to the IA meet in tennessee or whereever.

once my lude is done i will be making it out to the IA meet in tennessee or whereever.

well your lude is deffinitly a piece of art man! so many unique things done to it especially just the k24 sitting in there, then RHD. but i do have to ask what wheels are you going with now man?!?

and you might remember or might not? i messaged you asking about your paint code on honda tech or your rebuild. and then started talking about sparkling graphite, vanilla latte, etc.. etc.. but i told you i had a thread on prelude zone haha well this is it, thanks for stopping by man if you remember our post on honda-tech about paint haha well that was me, but thanks for the compliments again man i appreciate it!

oh ya. hahah. i do remember those messages. i thought you were going to end up painting your lude the exact same color as mine. im glad you are going with your own original choices now. you are doing a great job so far and you have obviously come a long way in a pretty short time. i appreciate all the kind words. as for wheels i am considering jlines, ccw's, image billets, and rotiforms. only problem is rotiform doesnt offer anything smaller than 19" currently, image billets are only sold in europe and i have heard bad things about customer service, ccw's are all over the place in florida (ccw is located in daytona so go figure), and jlines have strange size options.
who knows though. i will change my mind a thousand times before i actually decide.

thanks man alot of ppl are tellin me to settle down (dad, friends that are also into cars, etc etc..) but man i know a project to a car is never finished but i got expectations i want mine lookin like and i gotta get there haha and dude im the same way with everything when it comes to decisions for this thing (paint, the motor, rims, seats) everything man its all most annoying but gotta keep it clean and fresh kinda like you haha but dude ive thought of frost white mica as an option im kinda leaning towards a white that kinda gives a hint of silver in some lighting situations you got any ideas bro?!?

Re: PUFFS 4TH GEN PRELUDE REFURBISH

if you are looking for a white that gives a hint of silver glacier frost mica wouldnt exactly what you want. glacier frost mica (the color i had my car painted) is white. the micas in the paint pic up outside colors. it has a blue mica and a silver mica in it so yes it has a hint of silver but it looks cream, blue, silver, violet... it all depends on the lighting and what is around it. if you want a very vibrant gorgeous white with a hint of silver i would suggest going with lexus 'tungsten pearl':

in some pictures and in person the tungsten pearl looks completely white, others it looks completely silver and others you can see both shimmer through the paint.

Re: PUFFS 4TH GEN PRELUDE REFURBISH

well the problem is that ANY paint taken by a regular ****ty camera will produce bland photos. seeing pictures of my car taken with my iphone or with my girlfriends quickshot camera make my paint look bland and normal (like on my build thread when i show a picture of my prelude with the oem 5th gen wheels out back and the bbs up front). but when i take pics of my car with my canon 40d dslr the paint looks deep and rich and beautiful without any editing. i mean look at the most recent pics of my engine bay on my build thread. those are un-edited photos from my canon 40d (just re-sized). the quality of picture is apparent. the same thing applies to the paint. i picked the 1st pic above because you can tell it was taken with a good camera. that will give it the best comparison to what it will look like when seeing it in person. but lighting does play a huge roll too. go to a lexus dealership. look at one color on their show room floor with all of their lighting set up... then look at the same color outside on their lot and it wont compare. lexus has 3-5 really amazing looking whites that they offer but almost every pearl or mica in any color that lexus offers is gorgeous in person.

Re: PUFFS 4TH GEN PRELUDE REFURBISH

ok guys finally started my new job at honda as for now i've been busy with that, and waiting for my first check! on the side of that ive finally decided to re-do my brakes that i JUST re-did after my swap lol goin from ebay to all the way (excluding big brake kit my cars still a to invest into those things) lol but also due to a snapped wheel stud a bent intermediate shaft rotor rust and a bit to much brake dust im going with...
  • VTEC complete brake conversion calipers off a junked prelude :(
  • blox forged lug nuts
  • front and rear hawk hps brake pads
  • front and rear baer 1pc. rotors
  • goodridge stainless steel brake lines!!
  • 15% thicker half shaft ideal for street and track duty half shaft
  • and ATE super blue racing brake fluid (sorry not individually pictured)
