:::bsimongreatteach55::: 92 Prelude Si 4ws

just chillin in the driveway

After the first wash, got bored and wanted to see how the paint would look (Notice the alpha lock on the wheel on the second pic, like someone is really going to take it lol)

Looks pretty decent wish the guy never did all that primer and stuff

Doing the El guage conversion and fixing the climate control

The floor mats came with car maybe it will help it go faster lol

Bosch plugs I took out of the motor the car came with

Motor that will be pulled out for another H23 (wish I could have afforded to get the H22 oh well)

My Recent Paint job

Hey whats up to all, this is my project: 92 prelude si 4ws. I really like it and the fact that it needs alot work. I think it will make it more worth it when its all fixed and complete. Overall, I just want this to be a nice daily driver that attracts a bit of attention.
Story behind the car:
This is my third lude. My first lude was totaled, my second one was a disaster becuase I never had the time or money to really do anything. This time im going to put effort in to it and make it right. I think preludes are the best becuase they are unique and there arent tons of them on the road. Anyway, I bought this car about a month and a half ago and now im starting to work on it for the summer. My mission is to have it ready by July 3rd for the fourth of July. Corny I know and probably not going to happen but we all can dream right lol. Thanks to this site ive done some things already like changes the gauge cluster to the Electro luminescent versions, and fix the climate control. Also I when I tried to start it one day it didnt want to start and since having preludes before I popped out that damn main relay got my nieghbor to solder it and it started of course.

Some good things about the car:
It came with hid's, after market infinity speakers that sound great and a cat back exhuast

bad:
The body work, the engine smoking like a cali forest fire, f*** up suspension, and its throwing codes for the 4ws.(I ****ed up by switching the guages cuz now I have no idea what codes th 4ws is throwing. I was in such a rush to just do the mod.)
Engine:
Im currently putting in another 2.3 H23 motor. The previous motor was smoking bad and I did not want to waste my time. The car was smoking so bad that my nieghors thought there was a fire in my driveway when I started it.

Interior:
Stock with a radio I got with purchase of the car. I also changed the gauges to the Electro luminescent ones.

Exterior:
Stock and in serious need of a paintjob. The guy I bought it from said it had dings and he tried to fix them. He did not do too bad of a job.

Suspension:
Stock with two front cracked springs and a cracked rear sway bar.

Future mods:
H23 being put in. (Well it isnt a mod but at least this motor wont be smoking) Aquired and installed
Tokico blue hp shocks (waiting on delivery) Decided to keep stock shocks until I can afford Type Two's(Function Form)
Tein Springs (waiting on delivery) Aquired and installed
Tanabe Rear sway bar (getting ready to purchase after much research) Decided to go with stock sway bar; installed
Amber corner lights (waiting on delivery) Aquired and installed
Paint job (Probably the same color cuz you dont find many preludes this color in my area.) Paint job done!
Energy suspension bushings (soon)
Exedy clutch (being put in)

Re: :::bsimongreatteach55::: 92 Prelude Si 4ws

It's not that hard. Reading the rules is in capital letters in the description on the index and stickied in capital letters as "**Members Rides RULES ---READ Before YOU CREATE A THREAD- READ THIS--READ THIS -READ!" and yet, at least once a week, someone manages to screw it up.

Don't worry about it now, but it's just that it gets old and you can thank everyone before you that's made it become such a nuisance.
I also fixed the title for you.
Anyway, good idea with the EL gauges. That was one of my favorite features when I had my 4th gen. I wasn't real thrilled with the interior design, but the EL gauges were sexy indeed.

Hey, they are lighter and were avalable stock in OBD1 trim. That's the pros of the spaceship.
I don't care for the dorito tail lights, haha. In all honesty, I probably would have kept my 4th gen had it had an H22 in it.

Re: :::bsimongreatteach55::: 92 Prelude Si 4ws

Recent pics guys and gals

The front lip and bumper needs work but I just installed the fogs. I will be using an integra switch I ordered to make them work once it comes in.

New leather for the door panels; got the green stiching to match the exterior.

The process:

When installing it I had to keep rubbing the vinyl so it would lay down also for anyone who does this in the future make sure you take off all the old suede material that is on the door panel inserts or it will be a bit bumpy like mine. It came out good overall and my girl likes the way they look, but it could of been excellent if I took more time.

The old suede cover:

Rear accord lip just installed needs to be repainted to match up better:

Found out infinity speakers were installed in the front by the previous owner.......Good times

Re: :::bsimongreatteach55::: 92 Prelude Si 4ws

I bought them straight from the dealer. I have read that the aftermarket ones are a bit shaky. But honestly when I got them they look exactly like aftermarket brands. I do not know if the construction or material is different , but they look exactly the same.

Anyway it was a bitch to take out the right side. I could not even get the left side off. Actually it was three weeks ago when I did it. I heard clunkung in the left rear now and im thinking its the link. Im getting on that right now.

Also, what makes you think you need to do yours?

I hear some clunking in the passenger rear and even a mechanic said the links need to be replaced...all around! front links too.

Re: :::bsimongreatteach55::: 92 Prelude Si 4ws

I just changed the link in the rear and now no noise. I'm pretty happy about this. I will change the fronts when they come in. I believe changing the links will work for you.

Before taking out the old one I tried shaking it and looking for play but it seemed fine. Under serious force and pressure I guess its a different story. When I took out the old one and had it in my hand you can definitely see the play.

Re: :::bsimongreatteach55::: 92 Prelude Si 4ws

bump

i'm doing my links now...what a pain in the ass. Allen key hole is stripped, loosening the nut just causes it to spin freely, and using vice grips to try and hold it doesn't seem to work no matter how much force I use. Got bored of getting nowhere while down there so ended up replacing my swaybar bushings just to feel productive.

don't even know how i'm going to get the 14mm ones off, not much room to work with. I foresee either torch + vice grips, or just cutting it. I'll focus on the 14mm's first.
