Best option for aux in factory '98 radio?

***READ THIS***: I ended up going with the second link listed in option 1 and it works perfectly. I've compared the audio between the stock CD player and the new aux input and they sound identical in terms of quality. Please note that this unit will only work in 92-98 'Ludes because 99-01 have a different connector on the back of the stock head unit.

I'll preface this by saying I know next to nothing about car audio and electronics.

So the 1998 radio has an 8 pin din connector for a CD changer. I've found two different options for aux w/ the factory radio and would like to know if the cheaper option would work just as well as the more expensive one.

1. Something like this or this is the more expensive option and I'm pretty sure it would work no problem.

2. After a little research I found this and was wondering if it would work just as well as option number one. I've found a few other car forums and various reviews giving mixed feedback. Some say the audio from this is fine, some say it's too quiet, etc.

Does anyone have experience with either of these type of products? Is the little box on the more expensive ones necessary for acceptable audio through aux?

EDIT: Just bit the bullet and bought the PIE HON-AUX unit in second link. May post a review/write up when it arrives.

Get a new headunit, shop around you may find something in stores for less.

I would, except I find all aftermarket decks to look horribly tacky. I also don't want to have to fiddle around with the AFS to get everything working properly.
