Deck's for 98 prelude.

Hi everybody! This is my first post and I was wondering what types of audio decks that can go with this car. New to this car and more than willingly to learn!

THANKS!

pretty much anything with a wiring harness and installation kit. unless you want a double din, that would fill that space in very nicely.

I know that I have a single din because I like having the tray for putting my wallet in (my phone won't fit because it is the Note 2). The double din's look nice, but put out a lot of light which you might want to take in consideration.

Re: Deck's for 98 prelude.

Actually, the installation kit is not required (in some cases).
I know I did not need one in my car, or my friends '01 SH.

I have an Alpine in mine, and I installed a Kenwood in hers.
You will need the wiring harness to make the install easier.

Some people will say that you can not install an aftermarket
in our cars because of the Acoustic Feedback System.

You can, the wiring harness will work, you will just lose the AFB
functions. I have done this with 3 aftermarket units (2 in my car
and the SH I mentioned)

Double dins will fill the dash nicely, depending on which one you
choose. My loyalty is with Alpine, so thats where I will go, when I
get ready to redo my dash.

But once you get the factory head unit out, you will see a metal
bracket behind the dash bezel. That is where you can attach the
metal sleeve that the head unit slides in, after you attach it to the
metal bracket of course.

The wire harness is pretty simple, just match the colors, plug it in
and you will be ready to go. I can usually do a head unit swap in
any gen Prelude in about 30 minutes. Done enough of them over the
years, it is like riding a bike to me.

Lazarky, turn off the true friends translator please thanks

Stay "single din" type head units. Some double din radios need major fabrication.

Re: Deck's for 98 prelude.

I have a Pioneer double din with a 7" touchscreen. Technically speaking, it's righteous. Fits perfect, sounds like a boss. Functionally though, it's sorta a pain in the ass. Anytime my shifter is forward it's in the way of my jams and I feel like I'm constantly maneuvering around it. Might just be my own pet peeve, but it's something else to consider when you buy.

I'm looking at a pioneer double din touch screen head unit. They look real nice.
