i'm struggling with the sound of my ipod in my car with this fm transmitter...piece of junk!!

please please please help me find anything, and i mean absolutely anything that works better than the fm transmitter. i'm more than frustrated at this point!!

i've heard about some sort of adapter that connects to your ipod, but have no clue really. please any suggestions...throw me a freakin' bone here!

thanks

look into soundgate. they have adapters that take auxiliary inputs into oem or non-oem units.

Depending on what headunit you have, they have iPod interfaces.
FM transmitters SUCK!

Wsupsup? I just bought my 5th Gen Vtec 2 days ago and I bought an iPod kit that hardwire's the iPod directly to the factory radio deck. It is made by some company called: Peripheral Electronics. Got it at a local Fry's Electronics Store for $107 after taxes. It says "professional installation highly recommended" etc. Anybody have feedback on this particular company or product? Lemme know!

Peripheral is a pretty reputable company. Is it a PXDX? They say this because you have to access the back of the head unit and some vehicles are rather difficult. Prelude...not so much. Installed lots of them very few problems.

Ditto! got an auxiliary input on the face of my head unit, and then just a wire with a mini plug on each end.. still use the fm transmitter just to charge the ipod when it dies, but not to run off of, the static kills me.

Find a source for buing Soundgate. They have a universal iPod adaptor that charges and just has RCA jacks for audio. Hook up power and your rockin! 1cord to deal with and thats it.

just forget the transmitters all together. i went thru 2 of them that were the biggest pieces of sh!t ever, then i broke down and got a newer alpine headunit that plays AND charges the ipod at the same time, so you only need one wire off the ipod instead of 2. plus i got mine for $200

its similar to this one

Yea it was the PXDX. I got it installed yesterday and it works like a dream! Mounting it in the perfect spot was a small pain but it was all worth it! I can highly recommend these to everyone!
