Questions about dizzy's.

Ok, so...
Whats the difference between Internal and External coil dizzy's? Which are better and why?

Right now I have the stock OBD2 F22 dizzy, external coil on the F22. When I convert to OBD1, which dizzy is gonna work, and will it let me adjust the ignition timing? (I'm assuming no, cuz not all 3 bolt holes are slotted, allowing me to rotate the dizzy)

I know my H23 dizzy is external and H22's are external to. Can you swap OBD2 to OBD1 distributor without a chipped ECU? And why do you want to?

check this out its a conversion harness http://www.boomslang.us/obd2to1.htm but you should be able to use the same dizzy cuz converting it does not affect it

i would think the external is more practical not really better cuz if your coil goes out on the internal one then you have to pay for a new dizzy also versus just a coil... bu

my car is OBD1, but the F22 is OBD2 so i'm using the conversion harness that John posted to run the stock OBD2 dizzy and ECU for this motor.


but when i go back to boost, my chipped ECU is OBD1, so i'm gonna need an OBD1 dizzy. i already tried bolting up my old OBD1 H23 dizzy, but it didn't fit at all.

i might be able to get you and OBD1 dizzy for cheap....my friend just bought 2 ludes and he will only need one dizzy so i might be able to get you one if you need.

if you already have it with the external coil leave it that way Neck... That's from experience. Remember that thread about my lude not starting and I had to run Crank sensor wires? yeah....
