Why did everyone buy their prelude?

Ok, I searchedand I couldn't find a topic like this? What made everyone buy their prelude? What did it for you? I was originaly looking for a del sol, I had the used car manager at my dealership looking for one, but wasn't having any luck. After a couple months of no luck, I told him to expand his searches to preludes as well. That same day, he told me there was one prelude for sale at one of our wholesalers. I went out there that same day, saw a pacific blue pearl 94 si sitting there, and knew it had to be mine. Bought it, and have been happy as hell ever since. For me it was the fact was a combination of the looks and the fact that it wasn't a civic or an accord, you know, the dime a dozen cars. So anyone else?

I wanted a honda but one that is faster than most stock cars and as soon as i found out about the 5th gen i had to have it. The style of it is just amazing. Plus the fact that the ladies love it isn't bad either. Everytime i go outside and see it sittin there waiting on me, i get this warm tingling feeling inside.

Well I remember in 92 when the "new" body style came out, I fell in love with the taillights. Then about 2001 I was living with my brother in-law and he bought a black 92 si. He did the basic bolt-ons and I just fell in love with the lude... again. So I bought my first 92 lude for $6,000 and drove the hell out of it. I took it to the track almost every weekend, and ended up blowing the motor. Then about 2 years ago, I was looking into buying another car, and for ****s and giggles I asked my brother in-law if he would sell me his car since he just bought a new truck. And he did, for only $2,250, just after he replaced a lot of things on the car. So now she's mine!! Well... there is my story.

I was looking to buy cars and sell them for profit, which I did with my truck, then, naturally, I needed another car to drive/fix/sell and some people I know had a Prelude. I heard of Preludes but I didnt really know what it was. I did a lot of research on it and looked at it and I went ahead and bought it thinking I was going to fix / sell it. I fixed it and then I ended up liking it way too much to let it go. Powerful and fast yet efficient, simple but luxurious. lol

My short list was a pretty diverse range of cars - DC2R, E46 BMW 323i, VTII HSV Clubsport 5.7L, BB6, MY00 WRX. A few were discounted due to excessive pricing, the Clubsport would've been nice, but I didn't really want a V8, and the DC2R while probably the best car for half of the driving I do wasn't going to be any good for the long interstate trips that we undertake semi regularly.

I wanted a car that was agile up in the twisties, a fun car to drive fast. But it had to be able to accommodate two golf bags or enough gear for a weekend away. It had to be relatively comfortable due to the aforementioned interstate trips, and it had to be different.

That and the fact that I always loved the styling of these, ever since they came out. The Type S Prelude was always the first new car I bought on Gran Turismo too!

Well its kinda funny for me i was suppost to be driving a accord like the 4th gen prelude body style.... but let n be hold i left my number at the dealership. i come all the way home and about 10 mins after i walk in to the house the phone rings and the dealership called me with this 97 Prelude 5 speed base. with and exshaust and intake just came in and wanted to know if i was intrested... i didnt know much about the preludes just that they were beautiful cars.. so i went back and test drove it and fell inlove.. payed cash... traded a wrecked 240 with a sr20det in it and drove off with a honda prelude.. n i still love it to day n i cant get rid of it....

These are the cars before this: 93 Honda Integra ZC, 92 Honda CRX Del Sol SIR, 89 Honda Civic EF Sedan, 02 Audi A4 and had my parents Legacy GT for a few months helping them maintain it.

Bought 2 cars in the same day. Went to see a friend who got me the Audi for cheap. Came back and saw the lude on net. My mate had a standard one and it was fast as. He loved it. I used to hate them but just wanted to try one.Liked the way this particular one looked and so I used the low price as an excuse to buy it for myself and not for resale (like the Audi). Well I never got it to run properly but I feel its going to be a nice car when its done.

I got my Lude cuz Joel's auto rolled the Odometer back on the accord I bought. I wanted a Honda and I had my eyes on the sexy curves of the ludes and my dad found mine in the newspaper and it happened to be an Si too so I was excited.

Had a Gas guzzler 88 Cutlass. Not only was it getting 10-12 mpg, the trans was slipping. I Needed somethin to get back and forth to work (I was working an hour away, and with a v8 it wasn't working for me) and I knew a 5spd was a must.

I started looking for a civic hatch, or a tegg. Of course everyone and their mothers buy hatches, so unless I wanted to spend 3k on a stock 92-95 civic, I wasn't getting one. The lot attendant at the car dealership I worked for had a this beautiful 94 prelude sitting in the lot one day. I always like preludes but never knew anything about them. All it took that day at the dealership was a simple "Are you sellin this?" And it was a wrap from there. 2 days later I had my lood.

First lude I'd ever seen was a 3rd gen on the street fully modded to the teeth and I thought"damn that looks alot like a little nsx". Well I ended up getting one.
So out with the old and in with a 01 model. Pure unique style, comfort, reliability and just enough power for a stock 4 banger(but not for long "he he")

My buddy had always been talking about the preludes, and he had a 3rd gen that we called "The Lamborgini" and we would always go racing around in it, it was a beastly little machine! So after seeing what he had in that, I was looking around and saw the 5th gen prelude...pure sex! After realizing that I would need about 5 grand more to get one, my heart sunk and I had to go with something more affordable. I went thru three integra's (two were stolen), a 1995 240SX that lasted all of 3 weeks in the MN winter (I wanted to keep the car SO bad but I needed a daily driver and could only afford one car) , then I left my 4 year college after 1 1/4 years of realizing all I wanted to do was work on cars, not sit in huge lecture halls of 200 people and sleep... so I took my refund check and got another integra, on order of my parents it had to be an integra AND automatic, I didn't know why, and I was a little pissed off, but 9 months later I now know why they did it. In June of 08 I was getting tired of having an auto, so I started looking around for cars again, figuring I could sell mine for 3 grand and then get another car that was nicer and a 5 speed! Well, my parents said that max (my bro) needed a car, and THEY were looking for a car for him...needless to say I did NOT pick up on the hint right away, took about 2 weeks, lol. My brother has Vader syndrome (no, it's not at all related to star wars, sorry to ruin your fun ) which means he was born with no right forearm, two fingers on his right hand and three fingers on his left hand. He has had it his whole life, so it's no disability, but he can't drive a 5 speed, which is where I put two and two together and realized why they had me get an automatic car in the beginning. I sold my parents my car for 3 grand and then took a loan out for $5,500 and bought my prelude on July 4th, 2008...Happy Independence Day to me!! lol

My first car ever was a 2nd gen lude and that thing was an integra eater stock so I instantly fell in love with it. Was talked into selling it when I was getting into the military though , thought I wasn't allowed to have a car (retarded me). Been longing for one ever since and now here I am with my 5th gen. Wish I did some reading up on it first though and had a little more patience.

I was selling my Lexus ES300 because I wanted something less like a grandma and more like my age I didn't want to give up the luxury tho so I asked around...kept hearing about preludes and ended up between two cars a 2003 GTI Anniversary edition and a 99 Prelude SH.....The prelude was more comfortable, sleeker, better gas mileage, and more reliable...it ended up being a pretty easy decision. The only thing I wish is that they came in the lovely Honda purple! I love my lude!!!!

I just got done selling my 02 Tacoma which I dearly miss and I was driving my old chevy 2wd short box which was paid for. I drove my fiance to work, saw the 1997 Prelude sitting outside a Honda repair shop and said im gonna buy it. Loved it from the minute I saw it. I had seen 1 5th gen before this one and wanted a car not everyone had where I lived. Been happy ever since and plan on having it forever.

takahiro is on a distinguished road
I was just accepted into a new college about a 1 hour drive from my home town and I'm moving there, so I needed a car. I didn't want to take my family's 95 Saturn SL or their 91 2wd S-10. I was looking around for some car on my list, including a 4th gen. One day coming home from work I saw a nice black one. So me and my dad when to look at it, they wanted too much. Just my luck the next day I saw another one, but green. So we went to look at it. I fell in love with it as soon as I sat in it and felt the 4ws.
When I get in a car that fits me, I can't stop smiling. I'd be that way, but I have to constantly think of my next move in this thing while driving. Crazy Nebraska drivers.
Over all,I got it due to the body, interior, and 4ws. Didn't help that sitting in it kinda reminded me of my uncle's Spitfire.
