Aftermarket parts

Hi there I recentlly bought a prelude (2 months) and I want to start putting aftermarket performace mods in it, I just don't know where to start. I was thinking intake then a complete custom exhaust (header-tips) then chipping it?(Hondata?) Im looking for mods to gain the most hp+torque but i don't really want to loose gas milage or damage the engine, sorry I don't know much about this stuff (yet :p)

Thanks in advance

The more power you get the more gas you will use. I/h/E is about the first step most ppl get. won't get a lot of power out of them but later on if you do mods they will help out. As far as intakes go there are about the same just look different. Might as well just drop in a KNN that fits the OE air box. Short ram will pull hot air from the engine bay with is not good. cold air will do better b/c it pulls air from the fender well but is made of metal with will hold heat.

For intakes should I go for the type s intake? Im thinking about getting it, it's only 170$ and that's a pretty good price

One last question im going with a custom exhaust the guy said it would be around 500$ for it all I have to do is buy the header and he will put it in for me, im just wondering what one to get I heard DC is bad and Megan is pretty good does that about sum it up? im not willing to spend like 500$ on one though :p

yeah I wouldnt recommend getting DC. I have heard alot of not so good things about DC. I was thinking about getting a Megan because the price is really good. If i could afford it, a greddy header would be my first choice way before Megan. Besides that i havent heard anything good or bad about megan.

if you have a h22a, don't bother with dc or megan. their design is the same as stock. so no point in paying money to get stock performance. if you really wanted to do something without paying about $1000 for a custom header, do the collector mod.
