Running on 3

Some time ago I bought a 93 BB4 with a JDM H22A type-s engine. The guy seemed to know what was talking about and I simply loved the car and just blindly bought it (NEVER DOING THAT AGAIN). Had a few extras and good paintjob but was running rough and idle was high. The guy said this happened when the cams were grinded and explained to me it needed camgears. YES!!!! I know!!!! ...... I bought the car. Shortly after I found some cheap stuff on it. But bottom line is its running on 3 cylinders with number 1 not working.

Problem is I've taken it to mechanics and some said engine is fine (BS!!!!). I found a guy who for only $60 found that the belt was poorly put in. He's helped me reallign the timing and it turned out it was 1 tooth out. We were hoping that should solve the problem but instead its just running smoother but still number 1 is not working.

Will be having it tested in a few days and see if there are any computer errors on it. But check light stays off.

I simply have no idea what is going on. Other ideas of what it could be: the guy before put the Intake cam on Exaust and viceversa or poor grinding of the cams. Does this make any sense? Anything you could think that I might check?

I was going to prepare this for the track but the way things are turning out it could mean huge money thrown at it just to run properly. Also don't really want to sell it like this....too sad for whoelse is buying.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Obvious questions, are you sparking in #1? Checked the spark plug, plug lead, dizzy?

Dizzy is fine, leads are fine, sparkplugs are brand new NGK's and they have sparks accross the board. Compression is around 220-225 on all cylinders (reading was not exact because of scale).

So you know you have spark. You know you have compression. So what else is there? FUEL. You have to check and see if your injectors are firing. It might be clogged, malfunctioning, not installed properly...etc. Check that next. You only have Combustion, fuel, Spark, and Timing. Once you've checked every single component in each one of those systems you'll either find something wrong or everything ok. Still can't find it Pm me.

Bringing back this topic!

Took it to the tester today. They think its not electrical. Injectors work fine, dizzy does its job, timing is perfect. Must have another compression test. Don't really know what sort of compression test but the guy said its different. Also said it will either turn out that a valve is gone/stuck/broken/etc or its one of the cam lobes which has been poorly grinded.

Does this make any sense?
