Need help with tires!
I am admittedly dumb when it comes to cars and found this site courtesy of google. I am hoping you guys can help me out, though.
I drive a 2001 Prelude with about 80,000 miles on it. I just use it for daily driving around town and occasional between town driving. It has already been through two sets of tires and is ready for the next, but this is the first time I am buying them without guidance (read: not currently dating a car guy). Now, the salesman at the store suggested tires to me, explaining that I needed "performance tires." Is that true? Or did he see a clueless girl coming his way? What tires should I get, given that I don't drive aggressively at all? Think of it this way: if your mom were driving this car, what tires would you tell her to get? Any advice would be greatly appeciated! Thank you! |

DON'T TAKE THERE WORD ON WHAT IS PERFORMANCE. Lots of places will sell u anything. I told my gf to take my ford to a brake shop to see how much it would be to put new brake pads and have them turned. Told her it would be $300 b/c they had to pack the bearings and all, Ford told me $170 idk any place that is higher then the dealer. Anyway Yokohama are good i had them cost about $75 or so a pop i think. W/E you get will be rated in miles. something like 50k 60k and some 100k the longer they last the higher the price. Since yours is going to just be a DD get a good all weather tire.
