rwd 96 lude?

I'm new to the forum and am looking to buy a '96 lude. the determining factor i think, is if im able to convert it to RWD without any extreme mods? Im hoping to find a rwd axle that conveniently fits into the car and have a drive shaft made to fit the trans/axle? I'm young and new to the car stuff, so anyones help or advice would be great, Thanks.

aieeee, guys please dont bash him, hes young and new to preludes.
rwd is costy and alot of work, welding and doing all that crazy stuff.

alot of work could easily be done like a turbo to make alot of horse power for a fraxtion of the cost of a RWD conversion.

i mean, you can do really fast things and if you jam the wheel all the wy to the left/right youll get some smoke o something, just really and honestly, a prelude wasnt meant to drift, its a curvy road car, not a striaght or oval car.

If you want to drift then the prelude is the wrong car. Yes you can make it RWD, but why do that when you can pick up a s15 or s13 for about the same price and it is already RWD.

I remember that a guy on H-Tech did a Mid-engine Intagra. And H-Tuning did a 4WD Intagra using a CR-V Shafts and what not.

The prelude is a very good car. Don't let the FWD fool you, just go drive one on some twistys and you will be hooked.

Mate if you wanna drift, buy a Nissan. The only Honda you can do it in is a S2000, and even then that's a better grip setup than drift.

Going RWD in a Prelude is a huge amount of work, and would cost many times what the purchase price was. I mean first you would have to find a donor rear end, probably a few bucks there. Then a RWD gearbox for the engine. Probably easier to buy the F20C from a S2K, as it comes with the 6 speeder. Then all the work to cut the rear end out and make it fit.

But if you're serious about the project, here's a link to a HT thread where a guy did similar to an Integra.

And with that said, this thread can be terminated. There's a few other threads on here stating all the same things.
FWD doesn't drift, it drags the ass if anything.
