thats a healthy list of mods...make sure you know exactly what condition the tranny is in. My old roommate is on his 3rd transmission of that same car and I have another friend who has the non-turbo model and her tranny crapped out 4 days after she bought it w/ 120k on it. otherwise, looks like an alright deal (if you want to go to the dark side)...check edmunds and remember that all the mods he put into it doesn't mean you have to pay more money. kbb, and Nada don't really adjust for that so it gives you the advantage.

What's with the laptop?

1) why's this in the 5g section?
2) HAHA, a DSM!
3) have fun with that thing breaking down every 1000 miles.
4) www.PRELUDEzone.com. we're gonna be a lil biased here.

Only eclipse I would ever even dream about getting would be the GS-X. GS-T is a nice car, but GS-X would be even nicer =).

Also... like Nick said... they are not the most reliable of motors... that might have something to do with people getting boost happy on stock blocks though...

I owned a DSM GS based model for a couple years... I suggest you stick to Honda. Like Badmofo said, if its not an AWD GSX then don't bother, unless you want to let your wallet to get eaten.

Plus 8K, is too much for that condition. You can def find a cheaper deal if you really want to go on that path.

Eh, it sounds ok. I would just think about it really hard before you decide to buy something with that many mods. You never know how people are they like to cut corners and of course the seller is not going to state that.

Yeah I just looked at a picture of the car, and I think 8k is a bit much for a car in that kind of visual condition. The paint on the front bumper is pretty bad man.

According to Kelly Blue Book, the car is only worth about $4975 in "Excellent" condition from a private seller. It's only worth $4520 in "Good" condition. And it's only worth $3930 in "fair" condition. I got those numbers by putting the mileage at 100,000 by the way... because even though he says that motor is brand new with 700 miles on it... you have no way of knowing if that's true or not so you go with the mileage on the ODO... He didn't have a total mileage listed so I estimated 100,000 pretty conservatively.

Even though he has that large list of mods, it does not add any value to the resale price of the vehicle.

If I had to lump that car into one of those categories, I would say "fair" describes it best because of the paint damage alone:

# "Clean title history, the paint, body and/or interior need work performed by a professional."

It's a tossup between "fair" and "good" but I think that the paint damage is what brings it down.

I wouldn't pay a dime more than 4500 for this car... 5k at the most if I REALLY wanted it and couldn't find a better deal.

Yeah that sounds like a bit much. Not only that but I would think a BIG red flag was the fact he said he wants something hes not afraid to drive back and forth to school. Why would he be afraid?!?! And as others have said I havent heard of much luck with those engines once heavily modified.
