Lighting decisions

So I've been through a few pairs of eBay bulbs in a quest to not have ugly orange head lights. After having two pairs crap out, I am left with multicolored head lights until I decide what to do next. I finally did some research and found out that mostly all bluish bulbs are pretty much crap that wont last unless you want to spend alot for some bulbs.

So now Im looking into HID conversion kits...on eBay:embarassed:...I wonder how crappy most of the conversion kits on eBay are. Also I don't want to burn other drivers eyes out or anything from the glare of not having HID lead lights. So I've been driving around with mismatched bulbs for a week now while I try and figure out what i want to do. Input, opinions, criticisms, ideas, or just thoughts would be appreciated.

if only our search button was working right now, theres hundredssss of threads on those HID kits.
i've been running one of those kits, 7000K bulbs, a lil over a year now, i havent even aimed my headlights after installing them, and i haven't gotten flashed by one person for the excessive glare that they put out. even tho i got them for free as an x-mas gift, i'm not too impressed with them. they MAYBE improved light output by 15%. basically they just look cool.

if i could do it again, i would save my money and get projector retrofits done.

I know alot of people don't like them, and/or look down on them, but I've heard some good reviews of the prelude ebay projector headlights (the whole headlight, not just the bulb). You might look into those, I don't know how the 4th gen ones are, but the 5th gens got some pretty good reviews.
