D4 light flashing (automatic)

I took my 98' lude in today to get an oil leak fixed, when i picked it up the D4 light was flashing and when i put it into D4 it would jerk forward a little. I went back into the shop and he told me that it wasnt there fault. He used the scanner and checked to see what was wrong and it said that, cylinder1,3,and 4 misfired and that there was a transmisson problem(dont reamember the exact name. The car also has very little power but revs up normal. I dont know what to do, im gonna sell this car as soon as it gets fixed, its too high for insurance. The D4 light is what you shift it into to drive... P R N D4 3 2 1. Someone please help!

sounds like your tranny is about to go... the auto ones are known for that. there is an extended warranty but its only for 00-01. they've been trying to extend it to all 5th gens but no luck yet. i had that problem once. i just turned off the car and reset the computer by disconnecting the battery for a few seconds. do it for a minute just to make sure.

Yeah the D4 light blinking only means that the auto is on its way out. I am feeling you on this I am doing a 5 speed swap as we speak.

Re: D4 light flashing (automatic)

Help.! I have a D4 flashing light that comes on for 3 seconds when i turn my key to the on position. And when i try to start my car it simply dies. The only time it would stay running is if i spay throttle body cleaner into my throttle body but soon as i hit the gas it dies on me. I can not move my 97 prelude at all.
