Icon10 Rotary Prelude

That would kick ass in my car. Of course, I'd have to boost that **** because 126 hp doesn't cut the mustard for me.

Anyway, just to fill you all in, yes, that is a FWD rotary engine and tranny called the 13A. If I remember right, it was the first rotary with water-cooled oil cooler. It was only in production for 4 years from 69-72 in the R130. As I said before, it made 126 hp and 126 ft lbs. torque.
After 72, the Luce because RWD and Mazda never made another FWD rotary.

Just thought I'd share a little more rotary knowledge with yall.

This would be interesting in a 3rd Gen, pathetic in a fourth or 5th Gen. Cool find.

Brash.... i believe that pickup you posted there has a 12a Carb'd engine.... great lil sleeper for a 13b and some bogus boost numbers..... issue in return is getting traction lol.... me and a buddy almost picked up one of these trucks for next to nothing.... thing had alot of rust so that would have been the issue.... thus we just decided against it and still looking....

If that tranny hooked to a 13BT or 20B, it would be ON. I'd never have another H22.

And Brash, the Road Pacer, if I remember what it looked like correctly, looked like a Buick crushed in with a DeLoran, lol. It was slow because it weighed a lot and the 13B in it wasn't exactly what it was in the 80's and 90's. I bet the reason you're testing me on this is because it was actually a Holden and Mazda just put rotaries in them but the Holden models had their own engine in them. I don't remember what Holden's version of it was called though.

So do I pass?

It was called the REPU and was a carb'd 13B.
A lot of people put rotaries into their B-series trucks... Well, not a lot but I've seen it done on a number of occasions. I'd buy one if they started putting them in there from the factory but its too much fabbing to do myself.

I dunno anything about them, I just found that image and thought it was cool, and belonged in here.

I would love to see a rotary prelude, no doubt. my best friend has a Turbo II FC and is getting his engine rebuilt this spring. he has plans to find a 20B and drop it in there during the summer and just sell the rebuilt 13B for money towards the 20B, if he cant find a 20b the hes just going to keep the 13B and boost the **** out of it. I love working on that car soooo much haha... they are wicked easy to pull out and rebuild too, we helped with a rebuild at a shop in town. funny thing is that my town has 2500 people in it, but this shop, Synaptic 3, takes part in some of the biggest world rally cross races and the guy who owns it has like 3 rx7's

I hope he has at least 20K just laying around to get that 20B in it. It's not an easy or cheap swap.
