HAve a few questions please help!

im about to buy a 99 prelude auto with sportsshift just had a few general questions about it ? IM planning on building the car i want to make it fast but is it smart to even do it knowing its a auto sportshift. the reason im asking is because ive always delt with manuals never auto im just wondering how it performs as far as shifting goes and also the reaction time . Should i try finding a stick? thanks

The auto tranny shifts (From the time you tell it to) in about three tenths of a second. You could never do that with a clutch shifted manual.

However a clutch shifted manual will be better at holding power (as well as being able to buy upgrades, whereas I'm not sure any are available for the SS) and more of that power will get to the tyres. As to whether or not the power goes to the ground is up to your right foot.

The fifth gen SS trannys are known for suspect reliability, especially the early ones. 99-01 they had got thier act together, but still problems occoured.

It's a lottery. I've had my 00 for a few years and haven't had an issue (114,000km) but others haven't been so lucky.
