Icon11 H22a rebuild kit

So I have a 1997 prelude with an h22a imported motor. I bought the car in June with it but it has been running on the stock obd2a ecu and I just ordered an obd1 from phearable. I want to rebuild the motor cause I donít know how many miles are on it. I want to run malhie pistons I do know that my friend with the same motor in a 4th gen runs them and heís boosted on 25lbs. What is the best rebuild kit on the market I can get for the motor? Email me links and tips please first time rebuilding an h22a Iíve done 350s and 383s but never an import.

Re: H22a rebuild kit

there are none (atleast good ones) so you have to just find all the seals separately/by yourself (use oem seals, gaskets and timing belt stuff except upgrade autotensioner to kaizenspeed one)

from sites like for example
https://www.hondapartsnow.com/
https://www.hondapartsonline.net/

- with clutch (and flywheel) you have more good aftermarket choices if you want to upgrade them

- check if Nippon Type S pistons are cheaper than Mahle (I got ones from ebay pretty cheap, check seller uyunira)

- LMA's would be good to change/atleast check from the head (and hope your rockers are in good shape)

- let some machine shop check condition of your head and block (dont buy pistons blindly if you have to get your block honed)

- transmission rebuild kits can be found: http://www.synchrotech-transmissions.com/

Re: H22a rebuild kit

There are a few different sizes of crank bearings, you won’t know what size you need until it’s all apart and measured to .001 mm, Honda label them by colour so there should be a chart online to pick the right size/colour.
