HID Xenon conversion problems

I have just bought and installed an HID Xenon 8000k light conversion kit for my 5th gen lude but have noticed the lighting pattern is way too high. does anybody else have this problem and how do you fix it.

P.s Have tried adjusting it to go lower but no luck.

Well I dunno how to aim them, but reflector setups with HID's are going to be pretty blinding anyways, get some projector lights!

Just my two cents for what its worth.

There has to be a way to adjust the headlights though, but still probably going to be blinding to oncoming traffic.

I dont know the answer to that one, if you mean will they hold an H1 HID bulb.

With my projectors they turned out to be an H3 bulb instead of my stock 9006 bulb, which pissed me off because I already had 9006 HID's had to file down the plastic to make it fit... haha.

now that is weird...i dont understand why they just dont make a h1 style conversion headlight to keep costs down. it would be a bit silly now to get projector headlights after buying h1 conversion hid kits

hah, by light pattern you do mean that like light is hitting the trees and such around you, like your high beams are on right?

Projectors should help out significantly, mine are precision aimed man! haha

Well, the thing with HID conversions...which I learned right AFTER getting mine. They're illegal to use without projectors, because no matter how low you aim them, they're still gonna shine up into the sky...and its gonna look like you're hunting for opossums. and not to mention, you're gonna blind, and in turn PISS OFF, any oncoming traffic...trust me, people angrily flash me ALL the time...only to be surprised by my high beams HAH. bastards. Best way to go is get projectors...

Talk to brian (prelude1897) And he'll hook you up, homeboy.

OT, but where in the UK are you located? I was over there in 05.

most of the mods if not all on my car are from ebay. i suppose in america u cud take a drive down to ur local and grab these bits but in the uk they dont make these parts and theres not much demand for them which makes it even more difficult..i have never had a problem with ebay apart from when they sent me a wrong stage 2 clutch for my 3rd gen lude..but i think that was partly my fault too..

no. not at all. I don't know enough about them to give you a detailed reason why, but one major reason is retrofits have HIDs and the ebay projectors have none.

You certainly can, the retrofits will have higher quality projector lenses though, and the stock lamp housings are higher quality than those from ebay.. I'm running the ebay's with HID's and have no problems.

I wouldn't put HIDs into cheap ebay projector lights, cause from stories I've heard from other people who have done that didn't like the outcome. The cheap ebay projector light are designed to handle halogen bulbs, not HID bulbs which is why you won't get that good of a light output. Like what some people say, "You get what you pay for"
