New car problems.

Some of you might have heard that the head gasket in my 5th Gen is shot, update on that is I'm going to fix it when I have the time. Meanwhile I picked my self up a cheap civic and suprise suprise, I'm having problems. I know this is prelude forum but I don't seem to find any useful help anywhere else. So the problem is about half the time, the car doesn't start. If I drive it for 5 minutes, say to the store, it doesn't start but if I let it sit for an hour it will start. I'm not leaking oil, my temp gauge is always normal and does fluctuate though I think it is running a little hot. It's safe to say I probably have some air in the cooling system however this problem just started happening. Timing maybe? This car acts so weird that I'm at a loss as to what to even start with. When it does start sometimes it acts like it doesn't want to. It sounds almost bogged down at first and then when after giving it some gas it runs great. Sometimes I've got alot of power, sometimes it's gutless. Sometimes I beat 240's, sometimes I can't beat a kid a on a bycicle. (Just an anoglogy) it also has a jumping idle problem that I've narrowed down to a bad MAP, TPS or IACV. For background purposes it's a 95 DX with a D16z6 block and D16Y7 Vtec head with 6k miles.

Nobody is impressed with who you can beat in the car...it just proves that you aint got good enough sense to take care of your cars, then come here and want us to tell you whats wrong for free.

Pretty much got flamed for driving like a jackass and was told to slow down. And I'll be damned, slowing down fixed it.

I was using that as an anoglogy but alright. I don't see how anything you just said make sense. Keep in mind I've only had the car for a week, don't see how me taking care of it has anything to do with this. I've put maybe 100 miles on the car. And yeah, seriously, I thought forums were for asking questions? But I forgot the Internet is the place where assholes with no friends hang out. Next time buy a phone without Internet and quit ruining a forum with your immature **** nobody wants to here. If you don't have anything helpful to say keep your bull**** opinion to yourself and quit wasting my time.

Re: New car problems.

Hey now...such a potty mouth.

I've been quoted again. Nice!

(John Wayne voice)
Gee-whiz! Ya sure put me in my place gawl-darnit

And of course nothing I said earlier makes sense to ya some one who's sig says 'follow me at team wreckless'...
Race cars break...often! And they are built for racing.
So when you drive a regular car...a cheap car that was likely pretty used up when it sold, then dangerous dan...mr team wreckless gets a hold of it and here we are once again where you offer very little detail, but expect strangers to tell you how to fix another car you've screwed up...for free..

The internet is also a library. Do some reading. This topic has come up twice today, several times in the last 30 days and has been covered a whole bunch of times between pz, pp, po, ht and various other places.

Take it to a shop.
