Icon5 5th Gen Fogs Question

Hey PZ,

I just bought some of these foglights, and they come with all sorts of goodies as you can hopefully see.

Now I have seen foglight tutorials such as the EXT: 5th Gen V2 Fog Light Install WITH FACTORY PREWIRED HARNESS and wondering how to tell if I have V2 fogs or something else. I have a 99 Base if that's relevant at all.

Thank you in advance!

V1's didn't have a reflector infront of the lightbulb.
V2 did.

From the looks of it, you have V2.
Sometimes sellers will post a picture of the V2 and send out the V1, if that happens to you, send them back, the heat from the bulb has been known to melt the housing on V1 fogs.

These are V1:

Re: 5th Gen Fogs Question

They're all replicas anyway...

Original fogs had glass lenses with metal housings and brackets. Most reps have plastic on them somewhere.

Thank you! I'll be sure to make sure they arrive as they appear in the picture.

From what I read these aren't too bad and as long as they don't explode, I'm cool with any materials. The housings are metal apparently and I'm guessing the lens isn't glass but I didn't look for OEM, I was afraid they looked like the ones on 4th gens did.
