Icon5 HELP! unfamiliar sound coming from motor

I have a 98 prelude and recently it started making a strange rattling noise. It gets a little louder as the days go by. I do have a loose drive bel, but the sound doesn't seem to come from there. When I listen to it, it sounds as if it's coming from right in the middle Front of the motor.

Re: HELP! unfamiliar sound coming from motor

It's sorta a rattling noise coming from the center as the image shows, you can hear is at the car is on and idles or when I am actually driving. The motor started shaking a bit more than usual, but the car runs perfectly fine. Does it as soon as I turn it on until the very end. motor does let off some extreme heat but the ttemp goes and stays in the same place as always. I am not sure if I mentioned before but I have a bad cat with an exhaust leak. When I idle and turn the steering wheel the rattling sound is heard more clearly and louder. But can be heard from start to finish.

Did you ever figure out the noise? My friend's 97 prelude is making that same noise and we can't figure it out. A response would be appreciated :)
