NO VTEC?!?!

Yes I am new to h22a. But here's situation...

I have a JDM H22A block mated with an H22A4 head.

There's an orifice oil control in the middle/top of the block. I've read many forums etc and some say "yes the JDM block has it". Some say "none of the H22 has it at all".

So with this said; going back to my point, my VTEC doesn't engage but it did ONCE. Everyone is either saying take off the head and take out that orifice. Or else leave it and put an o-ring on top of the orifice under cam cap #3.

What should I do?

Re: NO VTEC?!?!

The H22 requires an o-ring there.

I would troubleshoot the places you can get to before taking the head apart so you don't go through all that trouble and find it already has an o-ring. Unless you did the work yourself and know it doesn't.

Re: NO VTEC?!?!

There's two pics of the head in this post of the spot you're talking about

:::LindsO::: 1995 VTEC

The last pic is what you're talking about. Just scroll down that post a little and you'll see.

Oring and Orifice part number is:
15140-P13-000

Hey Linsdo
thanks for the picture, I was wondering how to replace mine and after looking at your picture, it should be very easy. Thread a bolt into the Orifice and gently pull it out, installation should be the reverse.

Re: NO VTEC?!?!

I'm talking about the one on the block. I now know how the one on the head looks already.

Re: NO VTEC?!?!

This is the top of my H22 block; notice every passage is open and available.

Is the one you're talking about right above the knock sensor?

Or do you have a picture of yours? Either way, there should be nothing blocking oil from getting to the head on an H22 motor, JDM or not. If there is, it needs to be removed.
