Head work

The title is clear
I am building a monster 5th gen h22 700ish hp I need good advise on who should do my headwork, if I should even bother, im runnin a euror h22 head, I believe it and thd type s got light pnp work from the factory.
4piston racing is what tony palo ran I believe, they have a nasty cnc head program
endyn
headgames
portflow
rlz
I need real 1st hand experience, dyno numbers would help as well.
Theres just to many companies, good and bad reviews on all at some point in time, I dont want to start a shop bashing thread, just an informative post, pics would be nice

Re: Head work

Endyn!!!
He built motors for Junior Johnson's cars for years and was the 'secret' behind Bill Elliotts 212 mph at Talledega.
Larry turned his sites to Honda motors and has built a bullett proof B20 using a DART block and B18 head that can twist reliably at 11000 rpm's. Puts out 350hp using pump gas and N/A induction according to the article I read.
He stated he wanted to create an engine that could compete in the F1 series.

Can't speak for the others.

Check out the 71dsp build thread here at pz or over at Prelude Power. He's done a boosted circle track 5th gen that's a balls-to-the-wall big time fast, but reliable car.

Also check out ogsmakdade's 250+ to the wheels build thread. That's an N/A car that revs up to numbers Jack Roushe or Roger Penske would be proud of.

Re: Head work

$1500 aint bad. If you wanna play with big boys you gotta be prepared the spend big bucks.

Penske used to spend $30,000 each for Rusty Wallaces cylinder heads. Thanks to CNC they are only about $15k per pair these days

Re: Head work

I ran 4piston in my previous AM setup. Great customer service and great work.

Majority of race guys run 4piston, RLZ, Portflow or Mission Critical Performance from what I have seen.
