Prelude having trouble starting

Hey guys! I had a old account but couldn't log in... Anyways, I have a 93 prelude h22. When I go out to start it in the morning or for the first time that day, it takes a little longer to finally turn over and fire up. And yesterday, it would start then die immediately. After a couple tries and my foot on the gas it started and then was fine the rest of the day. I first thought it was the alternator or battery but tested them, and they were both fine. Anyone have any idea what it could be?

Yeah... Still haven't figured it out. I changed the spark plugs and cleaned all the connections like the grounds, battery terminals, spark plug wires and still nothing. Anyone have any idea?????

Re: Prelude having trouble starting

If you are getting spark and air (And I don't see why you wouldn't be getting air...)

Maybe your fuel pressure is bleeding down. If you have any loose or cracked fuel lines, air could be getting into the lines and the gas could be draining back into the tank. Try turning the key to on and then back to off 4 or 5 times to prime the line. DON'T TRY TO CRANK IT until the 5th time. If it cranks right up, then it is most likely what I described.

It also could be the EGR which is usually open when the car is cold. If you don't know, the EGR recirculates exhaust back inti the intake to "heat it up" to burn fuel more efficiently, and closes once the intake gets up to temp. If it is stuck closed, it could cause your car to not start right up.

Re: Prelude having trouble starting

Okay, so I tried what you said, and on the fifth try, it started right up. So I'm assuming that means there is a crack or something in one if the fuel lines?
