You mean the valve spring locks? Thing that keeps your valves from falling in?

If not that, we need a picture of one you still have...

Re: need help..

Did you put a magnet down in the head?

I have a multitude of retrieval magnets for finding dropped stuff. Small, weak type to 'sucks it up from 3' away strong type. Try a magnet in the valve, on the floor, in the motor crevice, under shelves, whereever you saw it heading to last.
Sears has a telescoping to 3' magnet with an alluminum collar that'll hold an 8 oz hammer. The collar allows you to stab it in the engine bay w/o it grabbing or sticking to objects around it. $3.99?-ish

Re: need help..

valve retainer i think is what you mean..and yeah it's no fun if you drop one but x2 on getting a magnet and just sweeping across your entire work area...hope you find it man...did you check a honda dealership? A part like that even from a dealer wouldn't cost much

Re: need help..

Was the head on or off the block when this happened?

Re: need help..

its both the intake and exhaust valve that i was cleaning, forgot which one was worse but it had a carbon build up, youtube had a video on howto buff those off and i went for it and it looks good now . The head was off the block, the last one i had to take off, it wouldnt' come off with the magnet so i grabbed it with a needle nose and when i got it out if just fell down it was in my garage and its messy in there. and
bykfixer. ill try that, don't want it still being there when i put it back on the block. i might as well try the honda dealer for a new one. and thank you all, I now know what it is.
