Re: f22a1 dress-up help

Paint your valve cover, get a polished intake, wash everything and use steel wool and some cleaner to brighten stuff up. Radiator hoses make your engine look nice as well as spark plug wires.

Re: f22a1 dress-up help

Tire shine the radiator hoses as well as rubber parts. Use maguires brand
Custom spark plug wire kit in the colors you want
Nylon brush the block with simple green or kaboom
New split wire loom in color to match you plugs
Silicone platinum kit to replace your vacuum tubing(also color options)
Colored tie wraps

For starters. Not spoonfeeding you into making my prelude lol

I think the f22 is a cool motor. id rather have a easily boosted f22 than a h22

Re: f22a1 dress-up help

I had 177k miles on my F22 before i swapped it out for my H. Nothing was wrong with it at all. To bad i couldn't keep it after the swap. Not an easy task to move a motor when you live in an apt. I'm not hating on boost, but i'd rather have NA. Boost can be a pain in the azzzzz. Especially if your tech is a moron. Can become a money pit.

^^ This

An hour here and there with simple green, a wire brush, a toohbrush, q-tips and paper towels will make your engine bay look great. Then when you have the dough, buy all the jewelry.

Check out the members rides section, particularly 4th gen cars. Take notice of the little stuff like screws and mounting brackets. That's what sets some cars above others. Intact warning stickers aren't sexy, but they sure do add to the overall appeal of an otherwise ordinary copy-cat build.

Looks nice man! Congrats! I been checking out various places for f22a info, I just got a inop, non running 1992 prelude s, with sohc f22a in it. For now, I just want to get it up and running. Yes, I do want to do a nice build and everything like all lude owners. But realistically I don't even have the money for that right now. Plus I'm going to be super busy with all the leaks and whatever else I find on this engine.
Mostly I want to know that since I will be doing pistons, sending head out to machine shop, and other things that may come up, would it be a good idea to START putting some of the parts that I eventually want changed like the intake manifold, exhaust, tb, Etc. (I remember reading somewhere that a similar engine not sure which, h22 or what, gives it a little more power by changing some of those parts.) or would it just be a waste of both time and money if not done all at the same time?
I want to be clear that I'm not trying to hijack ur thread, but just get some good input being that you like I am, are fond of your f22a. Thanks for the info and pics!
