Should i purchase this prelude?

First off let me wish everyone a happy new year.so i'm in the process of trading my acura integra for a 01 5 speed prelude I'm very excited about the trade but here's the problem the prelude has a check engine from a h22a swap not sure of the year but I'm guessing its a obd1 motor. current owner says he bought the car like that but told me I can get rid of the cel by swapping a h22a4 oil pump and crank position sensor to the current motor.I know u guys know a lot about preludes and h motors so honestly do u think this car is something I should take up or pass and how much would it cost to fix a problem like this?.my integra runs fine with no major problems but I always like the larger motor and size of the prelude but I wouldn't buy one if it would be a headache to start off with

Re: Should i purchase this prelude?

keep looking for a lude, i wouldn't trade something you know works fine for something that already needs parts.

Re: Should i purchase this prelude?

Even tho it has a larger motor, you gotta remember that preludes are also heavier. Plus h motors dont respond to bolt ons as well as b series. I would keep the teggy. Dont get me wrong, I LOVE preludes but in this situation, I would stay away

Re: Should i purchase this prelude?

Crank position sensor is what threw a code at the end of my engines life cycle, about a minute after that it died.. I would stay away, unless you wanted to do the engine right from scratch

That poor lude is almost out for the count. Keep looking, took me almost a year to find my prelude.

Re: Should i purchase this prelude?

If you have to trade your good car even steven, then no.
If op will sell it to you for say 8-12 benjamins, it would be a nice project.
