High idle in Drive/reverse

Hey guys, it's been a while since I posted here considering the car was totalled but I finally got around to fixing it. Anyways...

After replacing main relay, car starts perfect on first crank. Idles about 1000 rpm, engine sounds very nice after not driving it so long. When I'm in drive or reverse the car idles at about 2000-2500 rpm and I have to press the brake hard to keep it stopped. When I put it in neutral from drive the rpm goes up for a second then drops to normal 1000. Same in reverse, the car just wants to "GO".

Any suggestions? I also searched but got only bouncy idle problem which I fixed a long time ago.

Pretty much got flamed for driving like a jackass and was told to slow down. And I'll be damned, slowing down fixed it.

Re: High idle in Drive/reverse

I don't have any CEL when I stuck a paperclip in the service connector to check. But I was thinking TPS?
