Hello prelude nation! I have an issue as to what parts I need and what parts I don't need, I'm basically looking to rebuild my transmission with performance parts. But in order to do that I need to know WHAT to replace.

1. I have a "grinding" type noise whenever my car 1st starts moving, and this also occurs after I leave my car for 30 mins, and then come back and start it up and move it. My mechanic told me I could be my throw out bearing, but DIDNT know if that was right? Just wanting some opinions on what it could be. It happens both when my clutch is engaged and not engaged. I sometimes just let it roll out of my garage and it does a grinding noise, when it's just idling moving backward or forward, and it's only for 2 seconds and then the noise stops.

2. What would be better as far as a rebuild kit, brass or carbon? Also, I am NOT for sure on which trans I have. The guy I bought it from told me it had h22 heads, an h23 block and an H23 trans, but how can I tell for sure?

3. What website can I go to, to buy a rebuild kit? I usually go to rockauto.com (My 5th gear synchronizer is grinding, and my clutch feels like its going out) I'm planning on getting a stage 3 clutch and (maybe) a lighter flywheel. (Depending on cost) I don't have a lot of money to play with, so just looking for some honest opinions and some rebuild ideas! Thanks guys and gals! I don't want to spend a shizz ton of moola! I have other repairs as well.
