new head

well, new enough for me lol

just picked up a h22 head, almost completely bare.

pics are below, but im wondering if there is a way to tell what engine it came off, or if that even matters to my build. I am building an h23vtec frankenstein.

it is going to be all aftermarket parts anyway, performance parts, but do i need to figure out the engine it came off? he thinks it was a h22a, or h22a1, but not sure, it was his buddies.

he also said that his friend got it machined before selling it to him awhile back, he just never got around to building it, it looks pretty flat to me, no warping just by an eyes look, but not 100% sure yet... would it need to be remachined over time?? or should i be good if it sits for awhile?

my lude is obd1, so with that info, anyone have any tips, or insight on certain parts that i should go for, or lean towards for the build. it will be an h23a1 block, h22... head.

heres the pics

Not to be a dick buuuut, have fun finding all the little parts that go in the head that it didn't come with

Hopefully you won't have to go to Honda to get them all

Re: new head

Thanks type t, figured I should lol

And I knew what I was buying when I bought a bare head.... I plan on replacing all parts, and doing a complete rebuild... And not sure where I'm going to go for all the parts, but I'm putting together a parts list that I will post here for everyone to check out and give their opinions

I believe there is a 3-4 character identifier on the head by the exhaust ports.

Re: new head

It should have P13 stamped on it. The P13 is the regular head that almost all Ludes got.

And seals, which are satisfying to replace and cheap. Maybe look into getting a good cam seal
