Broke piece off intake

On my after market intake I snapped the skinny little pipe connector that connects to a skinny tube that runs to driver side of the intake manifold.

What is the purpose of that skinny hose that connects to the intake for anyways?

(It's the connector beside the VC ventilation hose)

Re: Broke piece off intake

It's a crank case breather line. It pulls excess air from within the valve cover.

Did you break the nipple on the actual pipe? or the one on the valve cover? or something in between?

Re: Broke piece off intake

I figured it out, it's not the VC breather , I have a second line from intake manifold , apparently it's a vacuum line that helps the car start up on cold starts.

Ah, i'm sorry I read that as the line going to the VC. I forgot you don't have an H series

oh? Then i'm not familiar with the lines your'e referring to.

I only have a breather line from the vc to intake, and another from the pcv valve to intake manifold.

Nothing more.

For a minute there it sounded like you had an F series, i recall my old accord had 2 nipples on the intake and it threw me off at first.

On H series, the nipple on aftermarket intakes is supposed to go to the nipple on the corner of the valve cover, not intake manifold. Do you have a picture so I don't feel like i'm loosing it? lol

Just as I thought, it's an F series intake. Not an H series.

Re: Broke piece off intake

Just drill a hole that is a 1/16 of an inch smaller than the vac line an stick it in there. M type s intake didn't come with the upper elbow so I had to make one. This is what I did on mine and It works perfect.

In pretty sure it's not an f series intake manifold. Maybe Canadian ludes are different?

Re: Broke piece off intake

So do you have that vacuum line connected to your intake pipe as well? (Black line over the top of throttle body to intake pipe)

No, it's the same pipe, just an extra nipple. That's all. No loss in power.

It's an h series manifold, just the intake has an extra nipple - not an issue, just had me confused for a bit there without a photo to clarify

I don't. Then again I own a 5th gen but with the exact same motor. But that right there clarifies the confusion - the photo, so you're fine with how everything is and can leave it alone. No problems at all, just couldn't understand your original question about the extra line, but it's all clear now.
